  • They are great bags if you get the large No5.

I also managed to get a No6 from their DFO outlet, was $145 reduced from $300 (ouch), but it's a beast and could also fit a fleece jacket, lunch, drink bottle and 17" laptop.

  • I keep checking their site in the hopes that the LLA 3 day pack will come back in stock.

  • Don't forget 7% cashrewards.

The dry red line is discontinued so get in quick as there won't be anymore produced in the future.

    • Wonder how lifetime warranty works for a discontinued product

I think they only repair the item by replacing the zip or stitching the tear in general so nothing changes.

"if your Crumpler bag fails because of defective materials or craftsmanship, under normal use and during the warranty period, we'll repair or replace the part(s) in question with no questions asked.

To request a repair, send your bag and repair request to Crumpler Head Office located at 10/180 Russell Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000, Australia or submit a repair inquiry using the contact form. Our team will get straight back to you with next steps."

        • Do they cover return postage?

        • thanks for the info, never needed any repairs on my other crumpler bags so haven't gone through the process.

is it possible to bring it to a Sydney store to assess if it needs to be repaired or replaced?

@marantz: did it twice for two different bags ( 5 year old bag and squid)

They will take it and send it to the service centre. If they can do it, they will fix it, else they will replace it. (My squid was offered to be replaced)

I didn't have my squid replaced because I liked the old squids with double sided zipper. They just returned it at store and I picked it up no charge.

        • Note: what isn't commonly said, any hard luggage that breaks they will replace it. Any soft luggage where there is a hole, they will not fix it. They will only fix zippers and stitching that comes off (I.e handles). A hole in the middle of the fabric isn't covered.

I'm assuming that would apply to the bags as well. That being said you will need something like a knife or screwdriver to pierce the fabric.

        • @harkoliar: thanks for the info. Much appreciated

I brought my fraying bag to the store in the Galeries Victoria (Sydney). They could not repair the bag so I got a brand new updated model. Even cam with the cable case, so now I have two of them.

Back in stock. Sign up a new account and ship to a different address and you'll get it for $79.

Thanks for the deal though OP, was so close to buying but glad I double checked.

    • Gone again :/

    • Thanks Chthonic grabbed one of the last few available.

  • Why only grey left, are they that ugly?

1.3kg before putting anything into it…

    • Weight training, bruh.

  • I just manage to pick up the Red version direct on the Crumpler website, using Afterpay no less.

    Very happy.

    • Is there any catch to using Afterpay? Any establishment fees or anything or is it as good as it sounds?

      • +1

From what I understand nope. I think they just bank on people not being able to pay it off…

        • they probably also take a fee from the merchant since it helps them boost sales.

      • I can confirm there's no establishment fee. You don't pay for Afterpay (unless you miss a payment), the merchant does.

  • This is a great backpack. Be wary that the laptop side is on the side and if you forget to zip up your laptop might fall out. In my case it was a SP3, screen cracked :(

  • I have a Khaki Dry Red N5 for sale if anyone needed. Mint condition, only used once.

Too big for me as I don't need to carry my laptop with me everyday, so I switched to a smaller backpack.

I've been using a Dry Red No.5 daily for about 6 years; it's a bloody brilliant bag!

  • Snagged one. Thanks

  • Thanks OP missed the iconic deal but this is pretty close
