Nice find. Nothing takes my fancy but I appreciate the post.

  • +2

Good find. Just looking at the product details, they seem to be either 100% wool or cotton, so that's even better! Forget about the cheap 100% polyester suits and get clothing garments made from organic materials.

    Any fashion experts here?

Can these jackets be paired with jeans like a casual blazer? Or do you need a matching suit pants?

I personally wouldn't with the ones OP has linked in his post, but there are a few in the sale list I would say shouldn't be a problem. The reason I'd say no to the ones linked is because they look a little too formal in their cuts, pocket styling and fabric pattern.

Here are ones I would have no problem pairing with jeans or contrasting chinos:

Can provide suggestions on colours to pair with if you're having problems.

You seem to know what you are talking about so I'm going to ask. Can you point me in the direction of a site that breaks down suits, formal clothing, and casual and how you can tell what is actually suitable for what environment? I've come across lists that show the different types of clothing for workplaces but they don't actually explain how you pick the differences when actually looking at them to buy something beyond showing a single picture of a single suit.

        • +5

I'll be honest, I haven't really come across such a site. I just sort of figured it out by drawing inspiration from things I've seen - whether they be people off the street or images from google, and a lot of it by instinct. If my gut says something doesn't work, then I generally trust it, because if you ever have doubt in your own outfit you will not look confident wearing it. Clothes are meant to enhance you, after all. Pulling something off is all about feeling confident when you have it on.

A quick google search comes up with this though:

          https://www.realmenrealstyle.com/blazer-jacket-jeans/

This site gives you another link that discusses the different types of weaves found in clothing:

          https://www.realmenrealstyle.com/fabric-weaves-menswear/

          And then there's this:

        • @Munki:
          Thanks for that last link.

        • @Munki: Thank you! Yeah generally it's more not being sure whether I'm overdressed and what fits in that overdressed category I've found. E.g. whether something is suitable for a interview or work or is too much for both and more for formal events.

You might find some of what you're looking for on reddit's /r/malefashionadvice forum. There's a decent amount of for-newbies stuff in the sidebar (on desktop view, at least), and try the search tool or google with site:reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice in your query.

      • Nice jackets but linen is a pain in the arse to care for.

    • +1

None of these really work that great as an odd-jacket. However, the list Munki will work the best.

Look for the styles that have

-Textured fabric instead of the smooth, worsted wool fabrics (which are too formal and dont pair well with jeans or chinos).
-Patch pockets instead of flap pockets
-Navy is safe. Grey and Black can be hard to pull off casually unless they are flannel or tweed.

      • You can get away with flap pockets if you can tuck them in to make it more streamlined. Having said that, not all flap pockets tuck in nicely. The two I linked to (the green and the stone) look like they could have their flaps tucked in and not look weird.

Funnily enough, I'm wearing a cotton blazer that looks similar to this one and I've paired it with a pair of blue jeans, white button up shirt and an oatmeal waistcoat today.

      • Shout out to RMRS:)

I use them with jeans mate..

    • Thanks onetwothree. Somehow I missed this one.

Post updated to include this suit jacket.

      Cheers.

  • Great post OP!

  • Any advice on how to match these with suit pants? I have searched both the outlet and individual websites and am struggling.

  • Anyone knows if this belt is one size fits all? Cheers

    https://outlet.countryroad.com.au/shop/menswear/accessories/…

    • Looks like it is size 30.

      • Thanks, I saw that too but I'm not sure if that's maximum 30 or minimum 30 :\

        • 30 inch waist i'd guess (or 76 cm)

        • @UNO:
          XD

Yeah I know but belts don't just fit one size, I just need to know if the 30 is the maximum or minimum size lol

Edit: I mean is 30 inches the loosest hole or tightest hole?

        • +5

Belts are supposed to be sized to the middle hole (out of 5 holes), so it should suit someone who wears size 30.

        • @Munki: Ah thank you!

        • @DoubleUKayG: No problems. :)

        • @Munki: generally you buy a belt size 1 size up from what you are. If you're a 30, you'd get a 32. But if you need a cheap belt, it should fit

        • @Stegasaurusnext: A good belt maker should make the belt to the actual size and shoppers shouldn't have to go sizes up or down. Not sure which camp Country Road is in though.

  • Are there any wool pants available for work/office?

  • +2

Do they have matching pants anywhere or just loose end jackets?

  • +1

Looking like "Caviar" with a Tuna fish budget. Thanks OP.

  • +1

Need to go in and try there’s no way to be certain if they fit perfectly.

  • Thanks OP. Son grabbed a couple of jackets but struggling to find any matching Business/Office trousers…will keep hunting.

  • +1 for the size info! Hope other posters follow suit.

    SIZE GUIDE IS FKING BLANK.

  • CLASSIC REFINED BASKETWEAVE JACKET - now OOS

  • +1

Damn, this was MY secret. I know my suit size from Trenery and just browse the outlet every now and then and pick up a new suit for $200. I feel like someone whose secret fishing spot has been outed

The main issue is trying to find pants and jacket that match
