Range of Clearance Items from $0.05 Cents - Officeworks

94

Found a lot of clearance items on the Officeworks website, here are some of the stuff I found, theres more:

Business card holder (clear) $0.05
Ebox Nylon Digital Camera Bag $0.12
Marbig Metal Bookends $1.26
Range of Artline and Pentel whiteboard markers $1.50
Range of toner catridges, eg Canon BC-22e Photo black, cyan, magenta, yellow ink catridge $0.05
Fuji Xerox 3124 Mono Laser Printer $55.69 - looks like a pretty good deal compared to this old post http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/12924

Not sure if they have some instore at that price. You can order online and pick up in store, but theres a flat stupid $4.95 handlin fee, its still a bargain if you order several things though!

are they in stock? or just posted on the site?

  • +1

nopes they are not in stock.

    • i cant even get one in my shopping cart lol

    • Did it say no stock right at the end of the checkout process?
Not in stock for the printer or absolutely everything I mentioned?
Cause I got all those I mentioned in the shopping cart, including the printer.

      • I just tried adding the first two items to my basket.

It let me add things to the basket, but when I started the checkout procedure it then said that items are not available for backorder.

I am not trying for every single item that you listed, but I'll confirm that for me, the first two items:
        - could be added to the basket
        - when I started the checkout procedure the quantity was then zeroed
        - the items also had messages that these items cannot be back ordered

        • Ahh I see, sorry then. I didnt realise, I never really intended to buy those items since I dont need them, so I didnt go through the whole checkout process. The price wowed me so I thought Id share them. Since most items are out of stock, you can delete this post then.

Bloody hell that site is terrible.
I daresay even as bad as …COTD!

i have tried to buy clearance things on the officeworks site as well but same message every time that its not in stock, some items i tried to buy 3 weeks ago that werent in stock still show up as available …but not until you checkout does that status change…so waste of time, why have it if you dont have any available…

  • Ebox Nylon Digital Camera Bag $0.12

Saw those on the checkout counter at OfficeWorks Vic Park (WA).

Looked pretty crappy but for 12cents who cares (if you need one).

Perhaps the other stuff is available in store as well?

  • I don't remember if in the past it was you who suggested entering "clearance" into the search box to find cheapies. It used to throw up a lot of toner refills for obsolete photocopiers; those seem to be gone now.

Unfortunately the handling charge kills most of the savings. I found 5000 staples for 60¢ but it would cost $4.95 to handle, so useless to me. But if you manage to find a bunch of things you want, and they are in stock, maybe it's worth it.

  • Expressing the price as "$0.05 cents" has a sort of ambiguity that reminds me of the "Verizon math" incident :D

  • I have called up and check with Officeworks customer service. The reason you can put the item into your cart but cannot check out is because the item is delivered from different warehouse depends on where you are. The system can only verify the stock against your local warehouse after you login with your personal details. Hope this helps.

    • A decent system would allow you to purchase the item from any of their warehouses but add additional freight costs if applicable.

Selected 6 computer items valued at >$100 each and not one was in stock. I have struck this before with regular non-clearance items as well so as far as I am concerned the Officeworks site is total crap. The actual product pages should show zero stock not the checkout! They need to find a decent programmer and get a better stock control system. This is worse than COTD.

Watch out with these sorts of clearance items. I managed to buy and pay for a specified quantity and yet only half got delivered. They gave a refund straight up, but messed me around enough in the process waiting.

Whilst good deals (if the items are actually available), Officeworks online itself is a trap. I'm still waiting on a legit item I ordered in October.

  • I'm pretty disappointed with Officeworks lately.

They consistently refuse to price match despite their TV ads, stores and web site being posted all over with "Yes, we will price match and beat by 5%"

    • I'm disappointed with EB Games for the same reason. Every time I try get them to price match they make up another excuse.

    • meh, when I try to price match at Paxtons, they literally go rabid and scream at me and claim everyone is grey market.
