These make me feel so stupid… what is the workflow supposed to be? Lots of guessing and trial/error? Are you subsided to scribble notes everywhere somehow?

I just spent 5 minutes staring at the first easy puzzle and couldn't figure out a single number :(

Lol, no guessing, you just figure out by order of elimination where the numbers must be.
e.g. https://www.websudoku.com/ 1-9 in every row, column and box. If there are only 2 spots left in a row, then you look directly below those spots and see if any numbers ur missing are there, if they are, then you know THAT number cant be in that spot in the row because that would violate the rules, so it must be the other number! Idk if that made sense but sudoku is not guessing :P

you are allowed to scribble notes. You can be like "this is either a 5 or 3"

I was whizzing through the solutions in another app - it was timing me and would indicate as soon as an error was made, and I found guessing was more efficient than calculating. Then I read the tutorial and realised there are established processes for working it out without guessing. Suddenly it seems like maths and not fun, and I haven't played since :)

(I do plan to work through the tutorial, but seriously, it looks like a lot of work.)

Thanks OP, much appreciated mate 😊

The app deals posted here mostly seem to be for new apps with about 10,000 downloads and mostly reviews that are 5 star with no text.

The description also says that the app is provided under the GNU General Public License however the app developer website is an electronics website with no source code.

    This is the best example

Looking at the screenshots, parts of this app look an awful lot like OpenSudoku (which is GPL3 licensed).

Got it and tried it for a game, it's very basic. My favourite is still Anodoku 3.

  • Now I can be a gamer too!

  • Tried it, it's crap recommend enjoy sudoku

    • What is the difference? What makes it better or worse?

      • +3

Just from the description "hints that teach" would be the most important difference for me :>
edit: and "contains ads" would probably the second biggest difference :<

      • Just try both you soon see what's different.

  • I like sudoku and want to get better/quicker at solving them so a hint feature that tells you what rule you could have used to work towards the next number is important. This app's 'hint' just fills in the selected tile without any explanation. Very meh, thanks though OP!
