  • Wow now that's cheap !

By a new seller. Not buy a new seller

  • Fake?

    • +3

      Nope, just a scam.

Happened to me once with Amazon US in like 2010.

  • +13

oooh. here comes a shxt storm.
    Sits back and watches

    • +4

      Passes the popcorn

  • +1

What? Is this for real? Something just doesn't add up.

  • +11

If it's too good to be true….

    • +1

Yep, there’s no foreseeable way they could acquire stock at a price which would make this a sensible price.

        • +15

By using your brain, and experience.

What is the absolute lowest price you’ve seen these for?

Absolute lowest i’ve ever personally seen a comparable product (the prior generation of this very model) was a 2016 Apple Christmas staff discount (where goods are priced at very close to cost), offering them at $323.

If Apple, with its massive global buying power cant price the previous model below $323, how on earth is this seller getting the current model and selling it at over 60% below the RRP.

tl;dr: I have a experience in the FMCG market, and I know from my knowledge that this is a crazy impossible price.

          @thewinchester:

I think the cheapest anyone ever got them was during a Myer sale, Bose price match, Amex credit promotion at Bose, and then TRS straight after… taking it to $270.

There's one way these could be legit stock - if they were stolen. Anyone else got any ideas?

        • -2

@thewinchester: you'd call this a fmcg? Wow disposable imcome has really shot up in the last few years… Many goods have mark ups of over 100% at final retail from distribution (bar computing goods which are on much thinner margins), so it's not unreasonable to suggest this, being a premium priced and segment leading product could be as well.

        • +1

@kwchaz: cheapest was the ebay mega sale when shopmonk was announced. $249 I believe but grey.

        • @turkz1:

Ok ok to be very very specific then… cheapest AU stock of the QC35 etc. ;) $250's a banger of a deal though.

        • @turkz1:

Wasn't that $249 price on the eBay mega sale for the original QC35 ?.

        • @kwchaz: Fair cop, considering I mentioned a price what wasn’t available to the public at large.

        • @wolfshooter: Presuming a 100% markup on RRP, that still puts these at an estimated cost of ~$250.

Even factoring in the remote possibility that whomever is selling these bought an insane number of units (i’d be thinking at least two standard sea containers filed to the gills), I can’t envision a COGS (cost of goods sold) scenario where they break even or make enough money for it to be worthwhile to sell these at a bargain basement price.

    • +1

The shopmonk deal was true: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314301

      • To be clear. That was for the original QC35 and it was during was mid 2016 and it was a grey import.

That is a completely different model from the QC35 II.

        • However the price discount was still proportionate at the time.

        • To be clear it was mid 2017 ;)

        • @urbancartel:

Yep i got the year wrong.

      • Grey Import.

  • +2

grab popcorns too, so many people gonna be streesed

  • +1

It's a price-error likely. All the headphones sold by the seller is priced at the same price. https://www.amazon.com.au/s?marketplaceID=A39IBJ37TRP1C6&me=…

  • -1

    Readies the popcorn.

  • +4

If you check the items for sale from the seller, you can see that there are numerous 'fake'/replica products for sale e.g rare shoes a fraction of the market prices.

  • +10

Bought 2 one from each color lol. Waiting for 2 x $50 vouchers :D

    • +1

This is what i was thinking - price error maybe you'll get a $50 voucher or at worse your money back and a free pair of fakes

      • do i need to send it back on my own cost if its fake?

        • Someone can correct me but I think sending anything fake by mail isn't permitted, so for this reason you wouldn't have to.

        • @Gnosh:
first time heard of this…really?!u kidding right?

        • @samelight:
Nope… AFAIK police would tell you to destroy it, as it can't legally be sold or distributed

    • +1

Yeah fuggit. The only thing lost with this deal is time and effort. Worth it.

    • Sense of entitlement?.

    • That sounds like a plan but how reliable is the Amazon voucher gift?

This is guaranteed to be a scam so if the Amazon voucher is also a guarantee then it would be smart to make this "purchase"?

  • fake?

    • Either fake or price error.

  • $300 Maybe… With this price, something smells fishy ~_~

  • +1

So what does Amazon have in place to protect us? Personally I wouldn't touch this, but interested to know what safeguards are in place…

  • +1

If you click more from other sellers, it says there is another one for $169 + $3.50 delivery. Also a new store. Perhaps too good to be true?

  • Fake for sure

  • +3

Let's hope for the $50 voucher

    • how do you get the voucher?

    • +1

I’m pretty sure the $50 credit for price errors in the past has only ever been issued when Amazon themselves were the sellers?

      • Got a $50 voucher from logitech speaker sale. And it was up for sale by a third party seller.

  • Ordered, confirmation email received. No money has been debited though. Let's see

    • +3

Gotta be in it to win it ;)

    • Ok so the money ha seen debited. Good sign so far 😁

      • Is that has been? Mine hasn't yet

        • Yes has been :)

  • +2

    Holy active noise cancellation Batman.

  • +1

Gotta be in it to win it. Thanks OP

  • So I buy them, turns out it was an error, they'll just reverse the card charge and likely offer a voucher or something?

    • They don't charge till it ships if it's like us

  • gone ??

  • +1

    out of stock?

  • Showing 400+ to me? Any idea why?

    • its gone.

  • +1

Yeah parties over - hopefully some $50 vouchers for those that we're game enough!

    • +1

oo yeah.. either heaphones or $50 win win deal :D

      • +1

Can you believe that they we're out of stock once i decided stuff it i'll have a crack! Went with the Beats Studio 3 instead ;)

        • +1

hehe.. I got that one too after buying this .. matte black :D

These are also worth a lot more than this ;)

    • +1

Snagged one. Let's see how it plays. lol

  • Now I can't add to cart. Is something wrong with the link now.

    • Yeah i've expired the deal - it doesn't let you go through to the final page anymore

  • +10

Lets see if amazon delivers noise cancellation or order cancellation.

    • Haha yeah…i'm happy with order cancellation and $50

      • +5

This is Amazon AU, all you should should expect is SFA!

        • They'll be trying to win us over - have already received one $20 voucher for a price error

    • +3

The last error on the D-link switch got cancelled without any notice or any voucher compo. So I reckon this will be the same…

      • +1

I got nothing when am item I ordered was out of stock, and remained listed as available after my order was cancelled. Amazon don't care about how dodgy their third party sellers are.

The only thing I got was multiple emails from the seller upset that I left them negative feedback.

        • +1

I just took out my world's smallest violin to play them a song of "Stiff".

  • Bought today from JB for $424 .. price matching the 15% off at Myer.

  • Auth was just placed on card

  • +6

Just cause I like to remember this day.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314301

    $254.15 delivered. Shopmonk.
I am wearing them right now…

Twas a good day for those who got

    • -1

Yeah for those who got the original QC35. Now old model.

      • Only difference is google assistant button as far as I know.

  • -1

  • This is just a happy weekend joke.
