Yeah I just pick one up and at that price it's a good bargain! I am on a limited budget as well and planning to install it myself.
Thanks for the advice (thumb up)Something that took me FOREVER to find was whether you connect the inlet pipe to the hot or cold mains. The answer depends if you've got cheap hot water! We have instant, not storage and no solar so it's "cheaper" to have cold water go in and have the dishwasher heat it.
The kitchen sink tap has the typical flexible stainless steel pipe. Turned off mains water, removed the cold water pipe, installed the cistern stop tap (link https://www.bunnings.com.au/kinetic-15-x-20mm-chrome-plated-…), connected the kitchen tap and the dishwasher to the stop tap and all done for water
Drill a hole in the connector on the sink trap (eg https://www.bunnings.com.au/caroma-50mm-white-combination-s-…), I think it was about 10 or 12mm diameter drill bit, connect the dishwasher outlet, tighten the supplied clamp and all done for waste.
The bugger for me was no power point as there wasn't a recess for a dishwasher (had to do some renovations!) and just drilled a hole into the side next to the oven and fed it through to where the oven is powered.
Specs say Hot or Cold connection, up to 60C (https://www.dishlex.com.au/dishwashers/dsf6106w/) however you'd want to be careful on an older house without a tempering valve as temps could very easily exceed that! Many of the newer Dishwashers seem to be able to handle 70C and some even higher.
I think this is same one we have. Washes well but doesnt have heater in it for the drying side of things. Not a real major for a cheapy but something to consider.
My dishes are 99.8% dry when the cycle is finished - the pressure and heat that this thing makes is huge! The only time there's ever any wetness of dishes is in the dimple of upturned cups etc. where it will sit.
I have the stainless version of this and it’s really good. Great at this price. No aqua stop hoses or anything but washes well and should be serviceable being an Electrolux. They were made in Poland when we bought ours.
My last dishwasher broke down and I replaced it with this model, one thing that stood out is the reduced amount of space inside compared to the last unit. It must be a cost saving having bigger components. Anyway I'm just hoping it last more than 4 or 5 years.
I have this same model - never had a dishwasher before and wanted something then and there and had a small budget.
Can't compare this model to anything else but it does exactly what is should do - washes dishes and does it well. I self installed this very quickly (Google "how to install a dish washer" and there are good videos on connecting the mains water and connecting the outlet.
I've been using this for around two months and haven't found any faults or problems with it yet. I have used Finish and Fairy tablets (depends what's on special), Woolworths rinse aid and used Coles brand dishwasher cleaner the other week as I noticed the glasses were a bit foggy.
