  • Hi everyone, I got a 7+ 128gb rose gold last night on Telstra chat. Not a problem, a very helpful rep. Answered questions I had re timeframe to activate (7 days of receiving SIM), the cost of calls international - was told could do $10 /month unlimited calls to certain countries, and provided link or cost of calls if the odd overseas call.

    Got it added it to my housemates' Telstra landline account so I get the +5gb a month and I'm heading to Sydney tomorrow for 10 days so and they are delivering it to the sydney address.

    And purely as an aside - I joined Virgin 3 weeks ago, 12 month SIM only contract and then I saw this. So out of curiosity and then went to check with Virgin about leaving. I was very surprised that if I leave today they will pro-rata this months bill, and they charge a cancellation fee = currently $93 as 11 months left, which continues to reduce by 8.95 per month. That is incredibly fair and reasonable. I was expecting them to say I'd have to pay the 12 months of the $32 per month. So, it'll cost me $93 extra to this deal but worth it for iPhone 7+ 128gb and Telstra service as it is the best as demonstrated last week when went out country and no optus reception for me at my friends house (Telstra works).

        Name is Mangesh. Online chat and he was great. My ph arrived at Sydney address yesterday- so I’m just about to go to post office to pick up as no one was home.

        I’ve read latest comment about $9.95 delivery charge. He didn’t mention that to me. Will see what turns up on my housemates bill.

    • Telstra netwrok is the best. Work takes me to woop woop locations every now and then and Telstra has been extremely useful in staying connected with friends and family.

    So I struggled on the weekend to complete my order via chat. Chat reps couldn't provide me an order no. and gave assurance that stock will be allocated in 24-48 hours. After speaking with multiple chat reps, I somehow managed to get hold of one chat rep and they ordered the phone for me. I received an email confirmation 24 hours later. After few hours of receiving the order confirmation email, I received a text message saying 'my order has been cancelled' and to call Telstra's 1800 no. When I called the 1800 the next day (only operational between 9am-5pm AEST), the rep said that I should take my payslips, ID doc to nearest Telstra store for verification.

    I went to the store and they mentioned that they couldn't find the relevant notes on file. However, they had an iphone 7 Plus 128GB (black) in store and they signed me up on the $59 plan.

    I suggest going to the store and signing up for the plan in person rather than using the chat service. It may seem straightforward to order via chat but (with due respect) the process may muck you around. And if you pick the phone from store, you also save the $9.95 delivery fee. Make sure to ask for free Apple Music subscription for 6 months.

    Telstra store specialists are very friendly and they will be happy to assist.

      Can you tell me about the 6 months Apple Music as I’d like to try that?

      • No problems. I may be the only odd one out as everyone else’s online chat order seems to have worked well.

        The rep at the CBR store signed me up for 6 months of free Apple Music subscription. I saw them tick a box in my customer profile.

        May be call Telstra and ask for it? I hope it works out for you.

  • I picked up the iPhone 7 plus 128gb on Thursday from Telstra store Melbourne CBD. I think they received more stock on Tuesday given popularity of deal.
