McDonald's 2x McClassics Burgers for $6 (App Only) (Big Mac, McChicken, Quarter Pounder or Filet-o-Fish)

1340

Feed your Macca's® craving with TWO McClassic Burgers for $6 – exclusively on the mymacca's app.
Choose from either a Big Mac, McChicken, Quarter Pounder or Filet-o-Fish

You CAN'T combine with the current 25% off deal unfortunately. Seems like one use only as well.

EDIT - it seems you can't order 2 of the same burger type as the discount will only apply to a burger type once.

Good deal, you can't stack with the 25% off btw, well not in the app, maybe by scanning the offer on a terminal.

Remove the meat and it takes out $2 to $2.20 per burger. Top up with salad items (onion and pickles are free) and get two cheese and salad sandwiches for $1.60

      Found the vegan.

        Cheese

      • +3

not a vegan, just tight. You could go buy a pack of woolies/coles burgers, cost 80c a burger patty and weight about the same as a quarter pounder patty (more than 2 big mac patties).

Cook it in the sandwich press at work (so I don't pay for the electricity) and I get two burgers for $3.20.

        • Might as well make your burger from scratch at work and forget about Maccas.

        • +3

I want to do this but couldn't live with the shame

        • +1

          @smartazz104:
I do this with fresh ground chuck. Toast the bun in the press, then bacon if you have it, followed by the burger. Make sure you season like it's steak & grill until you've got a nice crust, then use the melt position on the press to finish your cheese.
Actually a flat sandwich press is the easiest way for the home/office cook to do quality burgers

        • @dsgfh: Getting hungry now.

        • @dsgfh: Looks good.

    • This is actually a great idea, vegan, vegetarian or otherwise - absolute bargain and I've put my own veggie patties in there to make a pretty nice, relatively healthy burger.

I'm not sure which burger patties are worth the most so create the cheapest sandwich when removed from the order, I guess a Big Mac because there's 2.

    Available 8th March – 14th March 2018.

    • hmm, week of fillets of fish if it can be used. more than once.
would be great to add the extra fish to each and get the 25% off but not to be with expired deal.

Recently, I cannot complete the final step of my order on their app.

I don't understand why it sucks so bad but they can't fix it.

    • You can't stack two offers, that happens to me when I try.

  • I believe you can stack if you use the order touchscreens in the restaurant. I haven’t tried stacking these 2 particular offers though. I also know you can use an app offer and the coffee card in the app in one transaction on the order touchscreens.

  • can you use this multiple times before the expiry date ?

  • Can you use it for four burgers? (2 + 2) ?

  • Lunch sorted! 2x small mcfeasts $7.50 + 2x burgers $6 = $13.50. Gotta do it in two lots though.

    • Small Mcfeast Meal 2 for $7.50 has expired.

Didn’t mean to ruin your lunch.

      • Aren't $5 mcfeasts still a thing? can't I use the 25% off that…

Otherwise, get 2x $9.95 24pk chicken nuggets (48 nuggets- $14.92) and the two burgers for $20.92.

        • You win.

What a great farking company. I get there, just about to place the order and it tells me I owe something like $8.41, wtf!?? So I go through drive through and he says I have to contact the app maker and he can't honor it. Second WTF!?? So he then points out that there is small red text at point of order in the app, that says the following:

"*Price may vary at time of order"

Third WTF!?? I left and have now uninstalled this BS companies buggy app that puts you through crap like this. What a load of horsesh*t changing the price of a deal.

So yeah don't always think you're going to get your deal at the stated price. I've never ever know BS like this before in my life.

    • +2

I got charged 8.75 for my order just then. The receipt shows that the discount applied to only one of the two burgers

      • +2

I've now lodged a complaint with McDonalds for this false and misleading behavior.

EDIT: ROFL, here come the faceless OzB negger cowards.

        • +1

          Here's my face - hello!

I've never ever know BS like this before in my life

I do agree being charged a few extra dollars than quoted is annoying, but is this claim hyperbole or is it really a life-topper?

        • @sobes: A true OzBargainer would never ever question the saving of " a few extra dollars".

        • +2

          @sobes:
Might be just a $2 difference, but it’s still on the verge of a scam.

Doesn’t matter if just an honest but shitty app/IT provider or on purpose. Neither believable or expected from a big company like Maccas.

          Just not cool.

        • @pizzaguy:

I had to order two different burgers for it to be a total of $6 . I wanted 2 fillet o fish but ended up with one and a quarter pounder

      • +1

Interestingly, just checked my cc statement and I've been refunded see the extra amount that was charged for these burgers

        • So they should. It was just BS that you go out of your way to pick up dinner from them and get charged an amount greater than the promotion says. Who the h*ll has a damn clause that says "price may vary at time of purchase"!??? What a joke.

    • McDonalds reply to my complaint:

      Dear *****
Thank you for your email and we apologise for the delay in our reply.

We are sorry to learn of this issue. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to remove the offer of 2 core burgers for $6 from our mymacca’s app. We do apologise for the inconvenience and have now rectified the issue and the offer was released to your account again and the expiry date extended until 19/3/2018. We look forward to giving our customers more great value offers in the future.

      Regards
      Kerrie

  • I suffered app failure tonight, then tried to scan the barcode on the terminal which caused the terminal to lock up - had to process manually at the counter. The operator had to call the manager who made me feel like he was doing me some kind of special favour - then he refused to put through another order using the (non working) ap's 25% offer… Seriously hard work.

    • Hahah. what a night.

    • Yeah it's screwed me over a few times too. Last week it locked up the kiosk when I went to pay, so I had to go to another kiosk, make a new acct and wait for a new code to show up. really awkward..

then today the app literally froze up and I asked at the counter if I could get the discount and they said no so I paid full price. Now that I'm home, the app is working again grrrr

      • hard to beat the small mcfeast meal for $5 … walk up to counter, order and pay cash …. low tech but works every time.

  • Worked for me. Paid by phone and pickup drive through.

Had to reboot the app before the offer appeared.

      That’s some serious engineering.

    • You're missing the oil.

    • +2

as innovative as aussies are , how can we compete with that level of food engineering and research in a global market ……

actually what is in the bun isn’t much different to what you get in a loaf of bread in the supermarket, or other burger buns.

    • if I get all that ingredient for the Big Mac Sauce, will I be able to make my own

      • Coles Special Burger Sauce. $2.75 for a bottle and tastes exactly the same.

Oooh yum Filet-O-Fish. If I get x2 of these it'll almost be like x1 circa 2010'ish. Man they've shrunk

    • +1

watch soylent green, the oceans resources are depleting , so smaller fish patties means socially responsible and “sustainably managed”

  • 2 filet-o-fishes. Lunch and dinner sorted for observant Catholics today. Just sayin..

  • Drive-Thru:

How does it work with app orders ?
So you drive to the order machine, and what do you say to the staff ?

    • +2

Make order (and pay** via credit card) on the app.
      You're given an order number.
Quote order number at the drive through window.
They ask you to confirm order.
      Drive through and collect order.

** Price may vary at time of purchase

      • ty

      • So it’s like you pay first ($6 lets say) through the app, then upon pickup it charges you more, if it decides so?

$6 for 2 classics disappeared from my app, so I won’t find out soon.

        • It doesn't charge you until it is marked as picked up by the staff

  • Hasn't the 25% off offer expired? Don't see it in my app anymore and I've never used it.

  • +4

I’ve found that if you are ordering x2 of the same burgers it didn’t allow you to have the $6 special .
Looks like I am having a fillet o fish washed down with a quarter pounder.

    • +1

Ahh I was wondering why my 2x bigmacs are $9.20

  • +3

Added fries and a drink to this deal by adding the $5 McFeasr meal and stripping out the burger to get my fries and drink for $2.75. My Maccas couldn’t deal with this and I got this in my order

    https://ibb.co/imtChn

    • +6

If you just took the beef patty off the burger it would have still cost you $2.75 (and had a salad burger - chuck some fries on it to turn it into a potato burger). The other items don't change the price when deleting them.

        Teach me, master.

      • Yeah, I thought of that, but I really didn’t want more to eat so removing it all removed the temptation :)

    • Surprised they gave you the empty box. I would have got the message.

  • +3

Bullshit. The email I got said I was available til the 14th.

  • +1

This offer is back in the app now! New expiry of Monday March 19 at 11:59pm. Not sure if people who had already redeemed the offer get a fresh one to use.

    • Arhhh, I was there about an hour ago and it wasn't working. Thanks for letting us know its back.
