In the entire state of NSW there was only 6 avaliable. Mona Vale had one or few and thats it.
This is like as rare as finding money on the street
Why are these so much cheaper than the rest?
Got told this is discontinue by 1 of their staff.
Great deal but I've tried calling two stores so far (Castle Hill and South Strathfield in Sydney). Neither store seems to have heard of the deal. Could it be a misprint on the site? Hope not…
Print it out and bring it in. They "should" honour the deal.
Ah … pity. Doncaster sold out already. Apparently those disks have been on sale for about a month now, though previously around $8 or $9.
Anyone else having problems with the Officeworks website? Sometimes it works, sometimes the page comes up blank?
Just tried Fitzroy store (Melbourne), none left, apparently there are only 5 stores in VIC that have it, Elizabeth St, and Kings Way are the 2 in the CBD area.
Just wondering did you actually ring the store that have the stocks or told by other store?
As I in my case rang 1 store, they said other 2 stores have a few on the system. Rang them straight away got told no stock :(
just back from SYD city store, can't find it :(
I don't think it is available any more
This is discontinue product, Adelaide stores don't have it.
Good price if you can get it.
Anyone else having trouble with Office works site I keep getting
SORRY!
We couldn't find that page
Please also check the URL for proper spelling. If you’re having trouble locating a destination on Officeworks, try starting from the Officeworks Home Page.
Funny I just on the phone with Adelaide Marion store, they can't access the site but I can.
going to see if I can get some tonight!
Don't waste your time, best to ring before you come or else come home empty hand.
I'm give up, after phone 4 stores in Adelaide they don't have it & don't know about this product, maybe it been discontinue a long time?
This deal would make a good case for Scotty to implement an Undo + button.
website back up, but my guess is that they are all gone. At 4.95 they probably would have gone real quick and some may have bought a few boxes at a time. I also wouldn't put it past their own staff gobbling them up before many of the stores opened.
Forgot to say, thanks for posting it. Even if I missed out this time, I appreciate getting a chance at it :) (though … not so keen on those Jetstar "starts at 8pm" sales … :P )
Likewise the $49 printer is sold out, but they were available see

the quick and the empty handed….
Lucky you!
No not really - My local store had no stock, but shared it just in case others did - like those in Bondi
Went to Penrith store, no luck, but the lady said its now only available in the Sydney stores of Bondi and Mona Vale.
For those in melbourne, kings way and elizabeth street didnt have them either. Although elizabeth street had 50pk officeworks dvd's for $10 on special (originally $20)
Went to my local officeworks at west ryde. They said its discontinued stock and sold out a while ago. Must only be a few left and officeworks is trying to get rid of the very few they still have on hand.
They are stock that have been discontinued. A guy bought over 70 boxes of them one day at the Chadstone store near me, according to one of the staff there. Mighty happy guy, I bet.
What kind of "business" does he run that he needs 70x70 DVD-Rs? Doesn't the media degrade after a while if not used?
Ebay :)
Modern discs should last a lifetime given they are kept in good condition. Perhaps the cheapo brands might only last a bit less.
this kind of business:

LOL
Doh! :P
drnrg - great find - If I could give you a plus vote I would…guess thats one of the reasons they are now hard to find
I wonder how many eBayers are watching OzBargain and other bargains/deals forums closely so they can snap up large quantity of goods cheaply and then resell on eBay…
Hey Scotty How about a prize for the most commented on in 24hrs - LOL nothing like some cheap disks to get the ozbers going!!!
Maybe you'll make the weekly pick :)
Seems like Officeworks wants to drive the crowd to their local stores. The store in Fyshwick told me that this item has not been in stock for more than a year.
even the less cheaper but still cheap stuff on their website wasnt available to the store i went to. Blatant bait advertising..
Went to Highpoint Officework store (Rosamond rd) in Melbourne today, the staff has no idea what I was talking about.
Click on Product Details -> ONLY AVAILABLE IN QLD
This must be an update as the printout I have from 2 days ago says "only available in stores"
Ozpete thanks for the deal it was a good one.
Have to worry about Officeworks' approach to this though, agree it stinks of bait and switch
I agree to some extent. It may have been better for them to say it is quite limited, but given the price it was indicative that it was a close out of an end of line. Like all really good bargain, stock will go fast. Then there's the message above about someone buying large quantities. If I was OW management I would have at least set a limit on the amount any one person could buy. When they had the 2TB error I managed to buy a unit with a $300 plus saving, and that was an error they did honour until the realised the error and made a change, so at least they do honour mistakes. in this case the only mistake was to not mention its would be hard to find in all stores.
It's good that they do honour errors. I remember one store I looked at over several weeks, and also I ended up looking up other customer's experiences. That store's policy was just to make errors and not honour them, rather than fixing up their catalog before release :P
Apparantly Officeworks and Officeworks BusinessDirect are two different companies.
You can only get this deal online, though Officeworks will match the special if they have the same type of DVD on sale at the store.
Mmmh could be considered by some to unfavouably target old mods 📀😀
What's a DVD?
Damn :( Won't be able to get in-store anything soon. GREAT DEAL! :)
