  • Couple on ebay for $180-185 delivered that come out cheaper when you apply the PICK5 (5% off) code.
    (this one is $178 delivered).

  • +2

The 209$ 4GB 1050ti is much better value bang for buck than the OP card :-)

    • Thats what i purchased but im just worried as iv never purchased from them before.

    • Is it Low Profile card?
It may not suit those who require LP card

      • That TI is not a LP

  • where's the 1050ti for $209?

      • oh….thought it was low profile :(

        • this one doesnt require a psu connector

        • @Lunaei: I need a low profile card tho

          Like this one, https://www.pcbyte.com.au/pc-parts-components/graphics-cards…

        • @Homr: oh okay, are pcbyte reputable? i have never purchased from them except today

        • +3

@Lunaei: It's not just about PSU connector, its the card dimensions that makes it low profile to fit them in smaller cases/boards

        • @ozdesi: ohh, thank you haha

        • @Lunaei: Yeh they're pretty popular here. They are always in the ebays 20% off deals.

        • @Lunaei: I've been to there Heatherton store a few times, they're as legit as any other PC parts distributor I guess :-) It is unusual to have such a reduction, but good on em thumbs up

        • @Homr: ok thank you, hopefully it all goes smoothy. currently running a gt 1030 which isnt that nice

        • @Lunaei: Why don't you get the 1060Ti? Better value imo

        • @Lunaei:

Have seen mixed reports, haven't had any issues myself but haven't had to test them for warranty.

I've only ever bought memory cards, and I think a motherboard once, from them.

        • @Homr: I have a tight budget and i only have the g4560 cpu

        • @Lunaei: Eck, should've snagged one of the refurbished optiplex for $200ish
from ebay like I did :)

        • @Homr: Oh nice, what specs are the optiplexs? i have a few optiplex 760s laying around but they are core2duo lga 775 with ddr2 modules with a 255w psu i think

        • @Lunaei: I got the Optiplex 9020 i7 4770, 8gb ram

I'm re-using my own 500gb SSD and 4TB HDD but trying to find a deal on the 8TB External hard drive and shucking it to put it in to my case. Also getting another 8gb ram to make it 16gb ram and obviously putting a 1050Ti in there.

I got it from the same seller who is listing this one but is 9010 and not 9020
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Optiplex-9010-i7-3770-QC-3-…

        • @Homr:

What was the end price u picked up the 9020 for?

        • @chinezejew: $235.50 including delivery with the 5% off code

The delivery cost $30.75 which I found a bit steep

The optiplex came with radeon 8570, official Dells keyboard and mouse which was nice of the seller.

        • @Homr:

I nabbed a HP elite Compaq pro.
          Slapped a 1050ti into her.

          Great lil unit.

          Under $500 total spend.

          Add SSD
          Add ram

        • @chinezejew: Which ram did you use? Do you reckon this one is compatible with my optiplex??

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8GB-2x4GB-Samsung-DDR3-1600-PC3-…

The 1050ti is 250ish itself, so you must've got the compaq pretty cheap? Is it an i7?

        • @Homr:

          My i7 is 3770s - $175
          Ur i7 4770 is better

Yer the 1050ti LP I picked up 235ish.

Since u have a mid size ATX case now… Go try shop for a 1060?

          Ur 4770 won't bottleneck

        • @chinezejew:

Nah, my 9020 is a SFF, won't for a full size card.

        • @Homr: that ram should be fine, i am currently using a kingston twin kit, and patriot in my 9010. They work fine if you mix and match, but you need to be careful you dont update the bios or it may reject your ram. The ram will only run at 1066 so regardless if you put a 1333 or 1600, it will only run at 1066.

        • @nairdajun: Thanks but ummmm that doesn't sound right. Why does it run at 1066 when officially they say it runs at 1600??

          http://i.dell.com/sites/doccontent/shared-content/data-sheet…

          http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln152123/dell-…

Do you have an optiplex 9020?

        • @Homr: I have a 9010 (i5-3570). If you have a 4th gen using the Q87 chipset it may do 1600, but the data sheet on mine also said it could run 1333/1600 (same as 9020). Problem is that you cannot tweak it in the bios (Q87/dell firmware is not flexible. It wasnt designed for "overclocking" compatibility).

I currently have 4 sticks of 1333mhz ram in the 9010 right now, but the output only shows 1067mhz. Just be prepared of that possibility.

Also use a multimeter to check the health of the motherboard battery, mine just gave out and i replaced it. It must have had a hard life!

        • @Homr: Be very careful about what you're doing strapping so many hard drives into the 9020, the psu was never designed to handle a gtx1050ti running at full whack in addition to running multiple 3.5" HDDs. I would say already putting a 1050ti is pushing it beyond its "rated" wattage. The PSU Calc is giving me load wattage of 248W (9020, 17-4770: 255W), recommended PSU wattage of 298W (9020: 305W), the standard PSU is 240W for a 9010 (255w for 9020). I am already taking the risk by pushing an already well worn psu to the limit, i'll accept that i might have to move the contents of my 9010 into another case & psu at some point.

        • @nairdajun: Oh damn, never thought about that.

          My setup will be:

          1x3.5" HDD
          1xSSD
          1050Ti
A few external portable USB Hard Drives.

That will hold up right? I didn't know upgrading the Dell Bios might screw it up. Wow this sucks, I've always used a custom made PC and this is the first time I've used a Dell PC at home so I didn't know there are so many limitations.

        • @Homr: Likewise, this was the first dell system i ever acquired. I would suggest not using a 3.5" hdd, and using a 2.5" instead. The construction of the 9020 is from what i can tell pretty similar to my 9010, you wont be able to add a 3.5" and a 2.5" ssd unless you replace the drive bay with one of those caddys. Using a 2.5" laptop drive or SSD will be easier on the power requirements too.

if you insert your new ram and it works, just leave the firmware alone. I learned the hard way and spent hours trying many different firmware versions, the "newest" one that worked was only 3 versions newer than the original, the rest hated my ram. However, i have since changed out the ram that i was using at that time, so i am not sure if it will still give me issues. But this firmware seems to work regardless of what ram i throw at it so im going to leave it be.

I would recommend in your case using a 2-Bay NAS/ attaching said hard drives to your router if able instead. At least the NAS has standalone power and it wont be wearing out the psu.

        • @nairdajun: ahh, thanks for your concern, but my setup should be sweet

There are few people on gumtree that have the same setup as I have and they are re-selling it for $949

          Gaming Option 3
          https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/enfield/desktops/gaming-pcs-…

          Crazy!!!!

        • @Homr: I'm not saying it won't work, proof is in the pudding as you said, and i am also running such a setup. All i am saying is be prepared for the possibility that the psu will blow, you're pushing it harder than i am, and its a 5 year old system.

I was playing PUBG on this system long before the optimizations were being done, so i have probably pushed it all the way to the limit, but its not advisable. Most good PSU's (80 Plus platinum rated)outputs guaranteed 90% of its efficiency, yet we are asking these non-platinum rated PSUs to do 110%. Its not an ideal solution

  • also do you know how to find how much warranty is on it? manufacturer is 3 years but it dosnt show

The Galax 1050ti low profile seems like a good deal but its sold out :(

    https://www.pcbyte.com.au/pc-parts-components/graphics-cards…

    • +1

      ahhhh Nice Find!
ill recheck this until hopefully stock appears.

  • the 1050ti is well priced..$209, most shops having the same product for $269

    so tempted….

  • My 1050ti now says label printed on status, anyone know how i should expect to wait for it to ship

    • -1

only thing holding me back is the new Nvidia cards will be announce on 26th March… the GTX 2050 etc

so prices of 10 series will drop considerably

      • Really? I wonder if they will have the 2050ti LOW Profile?? :O

      • Correction - based on how they've pretty much always done it, the 2080 or equivalent will be announced, the midrange/entry levels will follow suit about 2-6 months after.

        • That sucks, I don't want to wait that long but I also don't want to buy a 1050ti now then have a newer/better card released in a few months time.

        • @Homr: Possible, but also bear in mind they wont be "cheap" anytime soon :P. When the 1060 was released, it took about 4 months for the first sale to go live before i pulled the trigger at approx ~$370 for the 6gb (Dec 2016). It took another 6-8 months (aug 2017) before i bought the 1050ti at which was around the $209 mark before mining inflated the prices.
Thanks to mining now not being able to use the 1050ti's (or not economical?), we should see the prices drop to pre-inflated levels now (which they are floating around $209-230 again)

  • Wow, prices have skyrocketed. I paid 155 like 2 months ago from Umart.

yeh crypto mining… ruined the prices for gamers
