Mayver's Crunchy Peanut Butter
Mayver's Dark Roasted Smooth Peanut Butter
mayvers protein ?
This one. If I remember the nutrition label correctly, it's got slightly higher protein per gram, and less fat.
i think i never saw them at woolies. correct me if im mistaken.
@baldur:
Correct. Seems to be only Coles.
From the makers website:
Mayver’s Protein Plus Peanut Butter, Dark Roast Crunchy & Smooth Peanut Butters available in most Coles stores nationwide
http://mayvers.com.au/stockists/
I cannot for the life of my find the dark roast at my Coles. So sad.
@serpserpserp: me too
@serpserpserp:
It says 'most' Coles, unfortunately
@Jamesx:
Coles in Melbourne Central is listed as having the Crunchy Dark Roast in aisle 7, if that helps?
They're also online.
@serpserpserp: Dark is at my coles, but not at woolies.
Strange cause it's at my Woolies but not Coles!
5pm on a Monday is a TA vs NC fight lol

After the AFLX I feel like a tool buying Zooper Doopers as I do not wish to encourage that nonsense. dat price though

Spam has 26.8% fat.
saturated fat isnt bad for you. to much carbs and sugar are.
AH @WatchNerd, you're our ingredients notification led.
The Canadian version on sale recently must have finally convinced them charging $5 for sugar water in a plastic bag is ridiculous.
That can't be right. The packaging clearly shows Orange, Pineapple, Lime ….. Bubble Gum? Hmm, I see the problem.
This many Mayvers deals is making me go nuts
I know! Grab some and spread it around!
Interesting facts (from the labels anyway): Mayvers is made in Australia using nearly half imported nuts, Pics is made in New Zealand using majority Australian nuts.
so?
I'm really liking the new labels, and discovering the dirty secrets of quite a few premium brands that are sourcing ingredients 100% from abroad.
What secrets? Did they say on the packaging that they sourced 100% of ingredients locally?
No, but the old "Made in Australia from local and imported ingredients" that transforms into 0% local ingredients when they have to show percentages was very misleading.
That's nuts, a lot of!
As an aside and a continuation of a discussion from the last time Mayvers was $2.50.
Aldi is now selling Natural Peanut butter for $3 everyday. It says made in Australia from imported nuts. That means Chinese nuts as the first thing you think of. So no thanks unless they say otherwise and even then only when I run out of specials.
So what is it, Mayvers using 49% imported and Pics using 51%?
IIRC, but check the labels, Mayvers is about 50% Australia nuts, Pics is nearly 100% Australia nuts.
New Zealand labelling laws are pretty bogus, and I don't trust the claims. For all I know, the peanuts originate in china, shipped to australian then NZ.
Would love to be proven wrong on this.
Full disclosure, I work with Mayvers. We are buying as many Australian peanuts as we can but as our sales have grown we cannot source enough to meet sales demand. The imported peanuts we use in Mayvers come from Argentina, the largest exporter of peanuts in the world. Watchout for Protein Plus in Woolworths soon.
Can you advise where is the peanut fluor from? Just curious how it increases the Protein content compared to normal peanut which in theory you can ground it into a fluor as well?
The peanut flour is from Argentina. It is not made in Australia. Dry roasted peanuts are ground into paste. The paste then goes into a filter press where it is squeezed under pressure to remove most of the peanut oil. Just a mechanical process, no chemicals or processing aids are used just pressure and a filter. When the oil is removed the remaining product is quite dry (flour) and very high in protein. We add the flour to our normal smunchy (smooth + crunchy = smunchy) peanut butter to provide a product with 25% more protein and 15% less fat than our normal crunchy or smooth. We try to keep our products as simple and natural as we can hence peanuts, peanut flour and a little salt are the only ingredients. Enjoy!
Mayvers on sale back to back? Grab the protein one if you missed out on the recent Coles sale.
