(Android) SilentMode (SilentCamera) Free (Was $1.79) @ Google Play

160

This app rated 4.7 out of 5 on Google Play and has been downloaded more than 50,000 times. Tested working on Samsung S8+.

SilentMode can be useful in many other situations.
You do not have to look for a silent camera anymore. Use the highest quality genuine camera silently.
SilentMode directly controls the sound coming from the device itself.

■ Quickly access the switch via App widgets or Notification area.
■ If you activate an auto run list, you can use silent mode only in certain applications.
(Accessibility service activation required)
■ In the case of a camera, all the sound, such as photo shutter sound and video recording notification, is not produced.
■ It does not require other permissions! There is no need to worry about private information leakage.
■ When an alarm or phone rings, it automatically disables silent mode to prevent problems.

My Samsung still has the shutter sound in silent mode.

      • Which one is that. Just tested my note5 and it worked. Remember a decade ago when privacy psychic getting the s*&#@ about every phone had built in camera and manufacturers had to make the clicking sound compulsory. Now no one cares.

@chibot: I have a S8+ and when switching to silent/vibrate mode it doesn't make the shutter noise.

        • @syba:

You know how to use the phone

      • You'll likely then have a grey import that still has the CSC (Country Support Code) of a country where it's illegal (eg. Japan, Korea). You should change the CSC for best signal and battery usage in AUS.

        • I bought it from Officeworks though

        • @chibot:

defo overseas stock… they do it to stop dodgey photo takers as they had a massive issue with it

  • Most camera apps I've used have the option to mute built-in.

  • Isn't it illegal in some places to silence a phone's camera when taking pictures?

They need time to arrange their fingers for the shot.
