Centralised Toll Trips Checking System?

So I have been served with yet another Toll notice (while doing a Can-Syd), this time it's from M4. I use Google maps and exclusively select toll-free roads option while driving.

Is there any website available where one can check after the trip if they have taken any toll trip(s) anywhere in Sydney? Or we have to check individually for M4, M5 or whatever else there is?

Pay attention to the road signs. There's plenty of signs along the road telling you when a toll applies.

If any of the roads are named with M you should watch carefully for signs of a toll. AFAIK only the M1 doesn’t have tolls, ie used to be the F3 (Freeway3) before they changed them all to motorways.

  • Not sure if it helps but you can check your timeline history to see where you've traveled if you're logged into the same account as your google account (and you have it turned on) https://www.google.com/maps/timeline?pb

Might help be able to figure out which roads you went on that had a toll?

Also watch out for 6 lane motorways with huge metal structures over the road that have cameras and big signs that say toll.

    Or
apply online for a temporary pass

    Or
    Get an etag

  • Have you tried not driving on toll roads?

    • There is an option in Google maps for excluding toll roads.

      • Pretty sure it’s avoid and not exclude.

  • Did you actually drive on the M4? Coming from Canberra it's unlikely you were on the M4 unless you also used the M7. If so, then expect another bill. If you don't want tollway bills then stay off the M Motorways and don't rely entirely on your technology.

  • You may use the homebush session of M4 which imposed toll sice March 2017, may be ypur google map is not up today?

Which route do you use to get to ACT?

    • I just relied on Google maps direction, don't know which exact route I took.

      • Try to put in the from and to on your google map to reproduce the route?

  • In Melbourne, our melway map shows tolls in blue and freeways in green. Check the Sydway? I'm sure it's the same.

    • I didn't realise that these were still sold. The company must be having a hard time making a buck these days.

  • If NSW is anything like Victoria it is very easy to identify tool roads as the signs are a completely different colour:

  • To give an update on this, Linkt takes care of all the trips taken by charging a 1$ admin fee on top of toll and takes out the money automatically. Works out great for a casual Sydney goer like me.
