Hi all,
I recently placed an order with revzilla.com in the USA for a bunch of accessories to suit my new Yamaha MT07. Order went through and I paid by my verified PayPal account using sane address and details. Normally that would be all that is needed on every other transaction everywhere else I have done.
I then received an email from revzilla advising me if I don't send them a copy of my government issued identity my order would be cancelled? I replied telling them this is highly suspicious and out of the ordinary especially seeing as I used a verified PayPal account. They replied and attempted to explain their need and even acknowledge that I used a verified PayPal account but still insisted they would cancel my order if I don't send them identification. I very reluctantly sent them a photo of my drivers licence and told them I was very unhappy and have never encountered this before. Once again I got an email wanting to cancel my order as I was not happy.
Is this normal?, I have never come across it in decades of online shopping.
Occasionally i have seen that from online shops who have suffered a lot of fraud and chargebacks. I give them a really poor copy of the id (black and white low res).
