Faulty Motherboard bought from Amazon USA

I bought a Gigabyte AX370 Gaming K7 motherboard from Amazon US in Aug 2017. Yesterday, when the screensaver was running, the pc suddenly rebooted but did not POST. Now when I turn on the pc, this is the series of LED debug codes it displays on loop 3E 90 14 15 14 15 C0 b5 b7 48. Removing the battery or Resetting the bios does not work either. Any knows of how to fix this?

What's the best way to deal with Amazon for warranty purposes? Thanks

what did Amazon say when you contacted them about the warranty?

    • They have nothing to do with it since the 30 days return window has expired. Contact Gigabyte and deal with them :-(

I'd notify Amazon immediately ask for warranty replacement, then go to Gigabyte home site /support and look if its a common prob, ask support what the codes mean

I'd hazard its a bios fault maybe needs flashing to a newer version? however I do understand board don't boot can't flash

    • Thanks, I thought I'd check if there's an easy fix before contacting amazon.

Asked gigabyte - let's see what they suggest.

They can't mind read, so best to contact them.

Check your RAM, try removing a module and then the other one.

    • Checked the ram modules as usually suggested but the problem still exists. First I thought its the cpu problem.

Well looks like you have done most things to resolve the problem, prob bad motherboard, sorry about that. People used to do a stress test of new computers, failing on a screen saver and not booting after is a bad sign.

Just found from a Gigabyte forum.

have you tried switching between the BIOS chips by using the on-board switches?

POST Code 48 is related to Video / CMOS configuration. The fix: reset the CMOS on the new board.

    • Yes tried both but the issue remains. Not sure what to make of the codes as some of them are unknown. Tried the reset switch and pin as well. Thanks for your help anyway.

Sounds more like settings issue. Prob best to speak to gigabyte first.

    • Yes waiting for them to reply. Thanks.

I had a similar issue with my old gigabyte board disconnected power complete held cmos for about 10 sec and replug power and booted up.

But my one would start then pull out error codes then turn off and then restart error codes and so on and also would not post.

I tried your suggestion and removed the battery and power plug and reset cos but no luck. Well if the boats faulty then it needs to be changed. Thanks anyway.

        • @ash7503: how did you go with gigabyte? I am looking at buying all my parts from amazon us but not sure about warranty.

        • @Aussie88: No reply from Gigabyte at all regarding the motherboard fault. I will now have to ask Amazon again.

        • @ash7503: have you tried calling them?
