If it's designed by the same team that designed that web-page then no thanks, I'm sure I could find my own ketamine if I tried…
The watch looks OK though - but fuel gauge?
    Techradar like it.

  • band length ?

  • Too bad the battery barely lasts one day if you're lucky…..

    • +1

Pretty much the same with any smart watch with this many functions. The Pebble is gone. My LG goes on the charger each night, which is what I expected and accepted when I bought it.

    • Lasts day and a half to two days for me. Consistently. No always in screen though.

  • Other than the battery life the watch is amazing. Bought it on the last Amazon deal post.

    • Real world user feedback?

      • Are all comments obliged to be feedback ?

        • +1

No, simply asking for feedback from actual users rather than the standard review sites… Never said you were obliged to provide one

I've had mine I daily use for over the 2 months since the Kickstarter shipped.

In brief, decent Android Wear watch, good value, decent sports tracker. Wish it had a little more battery life (but that is the norm now, I got over charging my phone each night, but charging the watch is still strange).

Mobvoi I think are ex-google engineers, and worked closely with Google on the release.

I have the ticwatch e which is basically the same except for the gps being in the watch band of the s version and not on the e. I love this watch. I unplugged mine at 7am this morning and it's now 830pm and I've got 54% battery left. And i use the always on mode too so the screen is always on. If anyone has any specific questions if be happy to answer.

No NFC is a deal breaker for me.
Have no reason to upgrade from my moto 360 gen 1 with this watch

    • Same for me except I'm on the original LG g watch. I want to replace it by haven't found the right one yet.

    • Are you using NFC for payments by any chance? NFC was a bummer but i bought it anyway. Got around lack of NFC for Google pay by getting ring from Bank West, so I can pay by tap by tapping the ring haha

    • Can I ask what you find so compelling about NFC?

My experience with NFC has been lame, so interested to hear what works.

      • +1

Mobile payments (Google Pay); sharing files with compatible devices; seamless pairing with certain devices, just to mention a few.

        • @albert0pia:

Yeah, around here (Newcastle) too many EFTPos don't/won't do Google Pay reliably and insist on a card instead, which is what hosed it for me.

So you share files and pair devices with your watch?

        • @norkle: I have never tried sharing files with my watch. But generally speaking, Android beam allows for easy sharing via NFC. Some headphones can be paired easily via NFC. Bank cards can also be added to Samsung Pay by means of NFC.

        • @albert0pia: hmm, I pair my headphones to my phone, not my watch. From my experience most apps control the phone audio, and don't produce music via the watch, or am I missing something?

        • +1

@norkle: Although I haven't tried it, I've been told that you could stream music off your watch without having your phone in the mix. I suppose that's why some of them come with 4GB of onboard storage.

      • Mobile payments man.

Don't have to carry the wallet around.

i've had my Ticwatch E for a few weeks and i'm pretty happy with it

much faster and more responsive than my old LG G watch, nightly charge but that's expected

  • I was an original kickstarter backer for the Ticwatch E so I've had it since before Christmas. Generally I really like the watch. It is responsive and the screen is very good. My wife has the Huawei watch and I think my screen is better than hers. Battery life is not great but it is about the same as the Huawei. It is quite thick though so I have accidentally knocked it a few times walking through tight corners.

I've had some issues with it though (a dodgy charger) and their support is quite slow to respond but once they do, they have been obliging.

  • Had the Ticwatch e for around a month. Really liking it. If it had a metal case and an LG logo on it they could charge $400+.

My only gripe is the charger. It's not a dock, but a magnetic socket on a cord so I need to find the cord in amongst all my others and then connect the watch and magnet. Would have preferred to just plonk it down on a dock.

  • Would anyone recommend the Ticwatch E over the S?

To me the Ticwatch E looks better (simplistic), not sure if I get why the numbers on the bezel are there, looks cheap.

    • E has gps in watch, s in band. Otherwise they’re fairly similar I think.

  • has all Ticwatch users paired with their phone? If not paired, how many days do you get from a single charge? or is it compulsory to pair with a phone?

I have a Samsung gear fit 2, easily last 3 days on a single charge but never paired with a phone. Never had a smart watch and this one looks nice

    • Ticwatch can sync by wifi, but usually I have paired to phone. You can go airport mode and not have screen always on, and you could probably get 2 days, but most would have it paired and get notifications.

      • Same here. I've always had my phone service have extended time before it diverts to voice mail, so I don't stress about it. Also, if my watch is ringing, the phone is nearby.

  • I should point out the one thing that does my head in with this watch. Most of the time it takes about 5 or 6 rings on my phone before my watch shows the notification and starts vibrating. I've read that it's a common issue with android wear but I'm yet to find a solution.

  • Code is not working for me now.
