Where to Update Lenses for Cheap on Old Glasses Frame

Hi guys,

I just changed my private health insurance (and I'm not covered by Medicare) and broke my pair of glasses just after the change.

I have to wait 6 months before being able to claim a new frame and lenses with the new insurance.

Is there a place in Melbourne where I can update an old frame with new lenses for cheap in the meantime ?

I have been quoted $450 in a random optometric near my place at the moment (and they did their best to fix the broken one for free), I would like to pay less if possible.

Cheers,

Sebastien.

  • waiting times are usually waived when switching, maybe double check that first?

    • I'm switching from the french "securite social" to a private Australian health insurance, so not sure but I will ask on Monday.

  • Have a look at zenni.com.

    • The website looks good.

How long does it take them to post to Melbourne ?

Also is there a place I can have a cheap prescription update in Melbourne ?

      Cheers.

      • Zenni make and ship their glasses out of Hong Kong with order-delivery time to Melbourne around 14-18 days.

Many optometrist outlets bulk bill for an eye test. Once done just ask them for a copy of your prescription.

  • Try clearly
