This looks cool, but I find Crumpler bags to be pricey. Before the sale price, almost $200 for a 13" laptop messenger bag? Come on!

Someone has to pay to cover that lifetime guarantee!

      • A fair point. I honestly didn't think that lifetime guarantee is actually sought/fulfilled most of the time. I have bought few items that claimed to have lifetime guarantees over the years and I don't think I have a single receipt for those items. lol If it isn't a super expensive item then I don't usually bother if an item works for a few years then breaks.

        • I have taken mine in for repairs (mostly to the zip) without a receipt and they didn't care. I think because it is lifetime they just don't care when it was purchased.

        • I bought an Everki flight 16" backpack from (the real) Dick Smith in 2011 at about half RRP, had it replaced under Everki's lifetime warranty in November 2014, still going strong will be interesting to see if I can replace it again one day!

I had the original receipt (as a digital copy) and I had to destroy the old bag & provide photographic evidence before they sent me the replacement, from the US.

$100 for a bag that will last 10+ years is expensive? Quality is worth paying for.

      • +1

He's actually referring to the $200 full price. So, whilst you make a good point it's irrelevant here..

        • $200 for a bag that will last 10+ years is expensive? Quality is worth paying for.

Better? The point is still completely valid.

          @Powershopz:
How do you know when buying something like this for the first time that it will last 10+ years though?

I don't disagree with you but personally I don't spend $100 or $200 on a bag and never had to. I look after things.

I'm moderately embarrassed by the fact that ozbargainers intentionally purchase these bags.

    • i have many crumpler items ( backpacks and slings) at rrp they are an indulgence , all mine have been purchased as either used on ebay or 25% to 50% off when on special.

      exceptionally well made products.
my backpack i used for 10 years (daily to work so about 2500 train trips trips) and only reason it’s retired ( sits in garage now) is that it didnt have a padded laptop section…. was replaced with a dry red no5.

how quickly they sell out when discounted is testament to how much faith people have in the product especially repeat owners who just need a new one for functionality not because old one is worn out ….. check ebay for demand of used crumpler.

  • You get what you pay for. I've still got my first Crumpler. About 10yrs. Used it everyday in my previous job for about 3 years. It's still going strong

    • Hey Sonic,

I saw your comment on the Series 9 Braun Shavershop deal from last December.

I was just hoping you could tell me what you think of the Series 9 shaver from what you have used? I currently have the series 7 but I am thinking of upgrading. I am hoping it will go on special to around that price again soon.

      Thanks in advance

  • CRUMPLER Art Crowd Backpack:Wonton Alpine looks good! Anyone can confirm it’s weight? Can’t find this colour anywhere else but The black version’s weight is 0.8kg and it says 0.4kg for this one? Both looks exactly same to me?

    • I almost thought you were talking about wonton filled with apple

    • +1

      I think it's .8kg. could be a typo.

Also check eBay store for this bag, you can get extra discount with code PMYERSALE

  • Great bag, had mine for about 5 years. still looks new after extensive use.

Here is a ~$2.50 item to take the total over $100 for free shipping.

    • Works with shipster if you still have your trial going.

  • None on eBay Myer store so we can get more discount?

    • I checked unfortunately it's not there else I would have posted the eBay link with code

  • Would you recommend this as a carry on? Or too small?

    • Depends what you want to put in it and if you can sweet talk the staff that this is a 'laptop bag' and take an extra.

This can fit a 15" laptop, power cables, headphones, mouse, pens, jumper, socks, passport, few small other things.

It's not huge but would get you by if it just has stuff for the flight.

      • +1

Totally agree with you there. Just a note this bag can only hold 13 inch laptop

        • My apologies on the 15" laptop call. got mixed up. I have the considerable embarrassment.

  • None left, really wanted this one too :(

  • Thanks OP - Bought one of the Milestone Moment Briefcase 13in Black bags from their ebay store - I used code PICK5 to get an extra 5% off (the other code you mentioned diin't work on this bag)

  • +1

If you’re in Adelaide, you might get lucky, as I did.

Took a punt on Myer’s stocklisting being inaccurate and spotted 2 left on the 4th floor.

Showed them the website and walked away with the bag.

What I did spot, which the sales staff didn’t, is that the stock they have has the newer (round) logo.

The code on the bag is the same though, so that’s what did it, I think.

    • Well done . I don't think they will even check the design as long as barcode is the same
