What are the best and recommended mains powered wireless interconnected smoke alarms?
Looking to replace several stand-alone mains powered units that are now EOL and want to ensure they are now interconnected.
Photo electric only, with rechargeable battery function.
Any highly recommends units? Best brands?

Thanks, looks to be wired interconnect only though.
and want to ensure they are now interconnected.
The cheaper versions use a wire between the units. Is this something you can do?
Otherwise you have to move up to wireless radio links to 'talk' between units. While fine, they add cost.
I would also recommend one with a 10yr backup battery like these

they have wireless link modules too, if needed
Thanks, wireless interconnect only as getting a wire between locations on two floors will be very challenging.
Brooks look to be decent units?yeah brooks are a good brand, used by the gov in their housing etc.
I've got some, they work well so far (as in no false alerts), the interconnect works well (via wire).
the main selling feature was the 10yr battery, which is why I got them.
But not going to be cheap if you need the wireless link module. But well worth linking them I think.
Otherwise I guess you could go nest, they do a wireless linking out of the box. Not sure on how well they are.
How much are they worth? Thanks
google is your friend.

Then you need the wireless module if you can't run a wire

So thats around $235 each for the 'wireless' versions.
Thanks. I did actually google it and it didn't come up with any prices. I guess your google powers are greater than mine :P
@subywagon: No worries…. Use the part number I find is best. Not sure if they are the cheapest prices, just the first ones that popped up, but they seem about right.
