[VIC/WA/QLD/NSW/SA] Free Tickets to Preview Screenings of "Love, Simon" @ ShowFilmFirst

930

Everyone deserves a great love story. But for seventeen-year old Simon Spier it’s a little more complicated: he’s yet to tell his family or friends he’s gay and he doesn’t actually know the identity of the anonymous classmate he’s fallen for online. Resolving both issues proves hilarious, terrifying and life-changing. Directed by Greg Berlanti (TV’s Dawson’s Creek, Brothers & Sisters), written by Isaac Aptaker & Elizabeth Berger (TV’s This is Us), and based on Becky Albertalli’s acclaimed novel, LOVE, SIMON is a funny and heartfelt coming-of-age story about the thrilling ride of finding yourself and falling in love.

Sorry, all tickets have been allocated.
Do check back as returns will be put back into this code.

Actually I see all sites available.

EDIT: I did a test to see if the guy above RichardF89 was telling the truth and now I have two tickets to see the movie at Rivoli (VIC) Sunday 10am on 11 March that I do not want. Please let me know if anyone wants them and I'll email them to you. PM me.

EDIT 2: Ticket has been asked and sent to an OzBargainer now.

    • +1

There is a cancel option on the email verification you get.

      • +1

Yeah, only noticed once I went into the option to print them for the OzBer who PMd me. He has now got the tickets so all good and thanks.

    • +1

The ticket says you need valid ID with the same name on it. I've redeemed free movie tickets in the past with no questions asked but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Ive been to six SFF movies and only once did I have to even show a piece of paper. Also, name should not matter as you just say you are with your mate who is running late but will come later. To be honest this will not be an issue but I also told the person I gave the ticket to that they can cancel it any time as I gave him the link as opposed to a pdf extract.

    • I think that is 93% 'want to see' doesn't look like it has a tomato rating yet. There has been a couple of positive reviews though, example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6wmfSjugeM&feature=youtu.be

    • There’s been a sort of renaissance for quality lgbt films, after so many years of terrible quality films (though I’m sure gay people were happy to be represented at all over the last few decades). Lots of 90%+ lgbt films on rottentomatoes these days.

The cinema I chose was Innaloo WA about half hour ago and it show available but it shows above message after I selected Innaloo. Now the Innaloo option disappeared. I don't have to lie about anything. Everyone have different situation if yours is different you can't say others is not true.

Only WA, SA and Qld left

  • +3

Spackbace, thank you very much for this.

  • I usually receive an email for this, not this time for some reason (SA).
    Thanks OP

  • Damn missed Vic

  • I got the email and immediately went to the website, by the time I looked at the list and picked the Vic session I wanted it was gone. Managed to get 2 for Rivoli though.

    • Wasn't the only VIC session in Rivoli?

      • No there were two sessions at the Jam Factory!

        • @sagitox: wow. The PC screenshot I took at 12.53pm (around when this was first posted on OzBargain) showed only Rivoli for me.

          http://i65.tinypic.com/eq5dw9.jpg

I guess on the PC the sold out theaters are taken out as I think your pic was from the night before.

        • @danielh: My pic was from today. 5:44pm.

        • @sagitox: ahhhh. I suspect that more cinemas were added after my picture was taken then as I could get tickets to every session when I took that snapshot. Hence me accidentally getting one for VIC.

        • @danielh: there are a few people here looking for Vic tickets.

        • +1

@sagitox: yeah, already given mine out. (Second post from the top).

Didn't realise how much in demand this movie was.

To be honest, I reckon you can print multiple copies of the ticket as I have never had it scanned. In particular, the Rivoli guy just looks at a piece of paper being waived around and you just walk in and grab a seat. Village cannot scan these tickets so there is no way to check.

I just hope I don't get negged for this comment. :-)

        • @danielh: Ah, yeah. Sweet.

I'm not sure how in demand it is, more so that it's free I reckon. Who doesn't love a free night out?

Yeah true. I've been to a few of these free movies, and at first they would check your paper and ask how many in your party for "numbers" as they had a clicker counter to see how many people were walking through the door, etc. But lately, like when I just went to see Winchester. They saw the piece of paper in my hand, and said "Winchester?" and I said "Yes" and they said "Cinema 1" or whatever it was and I just walked in.

But I guess you never know what's going to happen when you get there, if they are going to be strict or easy going.

  • One location became unavailable while I was 'forgetting my password', but I was lucky enough to get 2 tickets to another nearby location.

  • Anyone that has Victorian tickets they don't want happen to take them off your hands.
