  • 500 points ain't much, but better than nothing. Comeon Virgin give us a few more!

    • they feel overdue for a double points or SC promo! (here's hoping)

      • Random question about SC. Once you book do you get the SC and then tier benefits before you travel or only after? IE going from nothing to Gold status, do you get gold status benefits on/before that flight?

        • You get the points and credits after you fly.

        • You only get issued the SC after. You have to actually fly ;) You can't check in and not show up haha. Likewise, you would get the benefit after.

      • They had double SC and related promos late January. Targeted. It seemed more like a lottery as to which offer you received.

  • +2

To be honest, with my recent few trips on Virgin, I am disappointed with them in many ways.
    1. Service
    2. Food
    3. Aircraft maintenance (clean and tidy, broken seats etc)
    4. Being fabricated “full service “ airline.

I am not going to be an advocate for Qantas, but Qantas has always maintained their class even during their turbulent times.

    • Completely agree. Their service has been quite bad. Lounges are also always completely full and messy (Sydney and Adelaide).

    • As someone who has flown both semi-regularly, the 'Virgin is an LCC' rant is a massive wank. The difference on domestic services is literally the size of the on-board food and the absence of two different tiers of lounges, which makes sense considering the size of QF compared to VA.
