NOTE: Warranty is unlikely to be provided by local distributors for parallel imports

That’s quite a risk for an item of this value. It would also be very expensive two way shipping to send it back to Germany.

note someone posted on a previous thread that amazon covered all expenses for their Denon warranty claim

      • Correct, I had a bricked X2400H, all costs were covered.

Wow .. Never realised the Australia tax was quite so much.

$1550 for local bought compared with $930 for a grey import.

We really are the lucky country ?

  • It says "This item can not be delivered to Australia" .

Any idea how to get around that little showstopper?

    • yes ignore 'This item can not be delivered to Australia' and go to check out.

  • Any recommendations for a good set of 7.2 speakers to go with this?

Depends on budget, but Dali Zensor, Elac Debut, Elac Uni-fi, Q Acoustics 3050, KEF Q series, you'll want to listen to these in person.

        Thanks, will look into it

The x2400 is about au$700, i bought one there a few days ago. Not a huge difference in specs but won't have as much power as this one, probably depends what speakers you are driving and how loud you want it.

Sorry I haven't figured out the best way of posting hyperlinks on this but here is the txt version

    • The only major difference I noticed - AVR-X3400H does analog signal upscaling.
Any TV can do upscaling as well. But I think this is a convenience feature - AVR-X3400H can be connected to TV with a single HDMI cable only.
AVR-X2400H requires analog cable to the TV if you have analog source.

The 3400 has Audyssey XT32 over XT and an extra HDMI out, plus a couple of other things

I Just bought the 2400 too. Amazon.de are asking for the results of my last colonoscopy before they process the sale. If they cancel it, I might upgrade to the 3400.

I think the 3400 has a more advanced calibration method, but not much else besides your points.

  • I picked up the previous model https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01GQ85GIU/ref=oh_aui_detai… in Feb 2017 and its going strong. Great unit and this one should be even better. All the receivers I used so far were bought from Amazon Germany and their service has been awesome. No drama with any product.
