Advance Seat Selection - Qantas/Virgin Silver/Gold/Platinum

Hi all,

Just wondering how exactly the Advance Seat Selection benefit works on Qantas/Virgin for Silver/Gold/Platinum members.

Usually when I book a domestic economy flight and I have to choose my seat, the first half of the plane is always not available, assuming reserved.

If you're silver do you get access to the whole first half of the plane? Or is it available to you in sections depending on your tier level?

For me, I'll be going from Velocity Red (noob flyer haha) to Gold and was wondering how much of the plane will become available to me?

Cheers

QFF Platinum domestic you can choose up to row 6 (row 4 being the front of economy), 3 days out you can choose up to row 4.

Gold was up to about row 9 from memory.

I assume it's similar for virgin.

    • Thanks! That's pretty much what I was trying to work out.

If anyone else can share for Virgin that would be great!

On most planes, Velocity status get you the following:
    Platinum - rows 3 to 6
    Gold - rows 7 to 10

    Don't know Silver

    • Yep, that's it, if you are silver or gold you can often change your seat to get further forward if u change your seat closer to the departure. I usually try 24-48 hours before but I dunno when the blocked seats get released
