I found these Wild Wood Lamps when I went to use my "The Home" promo offer and they are phenomenal. I bought some (one as a study lamp and the rest as bedsides) and they arrived on Friday and I am so happy with them - even better than expected! They are top quality; tall and extremely well made. I don't know why they're so cheap (reduced from $149.95)! I ended up paying around $70 for four (including Club Catch).
They're not advertised/ described very well so I Googled them to discover they weigh 4.5 kg (which I found on other websites that sell them for much more) and after reading a couple of reviews, I decided to buy (also found some better photos of them). They came with an extra metal sprocket/ handle which is inserted inside the shade to manoeuvre it side to side, and up and down, without having to touch the shade (like an old Architect's lamp). This lamp is good enough for a professional Architect, Artist or avid reader.
They were packaged individually which I was impressed with, but the boxes they are actually presented in are so big and heavy that they really have no choice (the design of the box is very nice, too). The packaging alone weighs an extra couple of kilos, with what looks to be a recycled carboard, thermoformed interior (no polystyrene). I can safely state that this is a premium Designer lamp. Every aspect has been considered, including the instructions. I like them so much I want to buy them in black, charcoal, blue and green, too. I won't but I want to.
Not sure how long they'll be at this price but everywhere else, they sell for upwards of $100.
Please note: They require very small E27 globes (I got the energy saving kind). I bought some at Bunnings for $6.90 or so (and later spotted them at Woolworths for $6.50). I bought the 8W variety which translates to 25W and it is more than adequate (maximum allowed is 12W/40W) which also offers good lighting. Also, take care when removing them from the box as the hinges are not tightened.
What’s the normal price?
