    Nice find ;)

Thanks. Preparing for my 4am start for my first day at Uni tomorrow (yikes!). :)

      • +2

4am!?! I'll never complain about having to get up at 5.45am again lol :P

        • +1

Hehe. It takes me over eight hours to get to and from school. OMG.

        • +2

@surroundedbymaniacs: Haha wow!! Only takes me 5 hours return trip to get to and from uni.

Btw I'm assuming you mean Uni and not school because otherwise I'd ask the Victorian government some questions about their funding..
How many days are you going to uni??

        • +2

@pennypincher98: Hehe… Yes, Uni. Three days a week, thankfully. Scrambled to get my timetable sorted when the classes were released.

        • +1

@surroundedbymaniacs: wow that sucks, you can't move any closer?

        • +3

@Quantumcat: I have a great rental where I am (on the Bass Coast - a gorgeous beach town). Landlord hasn't put up my rent in six years and we've become good friends. A rare person. I painted the whole house for him out of gratitude. If not for that, I'd have moved closer. I also missed out on an apartment on Campus due to a Housing Assist Program being scrapped. It would've meant two rents but it would've been cheaper than paying for a hotel once a week and I would've had seven nights accommodation instead of one. Luckily, I can get an apartment in second or third year. Might leave it until third to really help me attain my Degree.

        • +1

@surroundedbymaniacs: ah I see! If you have a rental that sounds like you're not super young which is good —- my two years living on campus were probably the funnest, best two years of my life. But probably not the same if you're not 18-early twenties
And catching public transport isn't so bad, it's like two enforced 4-hour study periods lol. Does mean you can't do any fun activities in the evening though (unless you make good enough friends that you can crash with them!)

Best of luck this year. I am doing distance and just have 1 subject to go this semester then can graduate, can't wait until it is over

        • +2

@Quantumcat: Definitely too old for this but I topped all my subjects and most assignments, etc, last year when I returned to complete my VCE. I was very surprised, believe me. I knew I had the aptitude but didn't expect to do so well and end up getting a scholarship. There's a bit of life left in the engine. I'm 45yo - actually, everyone thought I was in my twenties last year, so I didn't stand out that much - one guy thought I was 22! He was so shocked when I told him my real age. Must be the sunscreen or good genes, idk.

I'm not the most sociable of people, quite introverted, but who knows what the future will bring. Also, I've done all the fun stuff already. Best wishes for completing your Degree.

        • +2

@surroundedbymaniacs: you could always do an online degree then you wouldn’t have to come in at all. Eg unisa online or Swinburne online.

        • +7

          @unifex:
by time I read this story I totally forgot I was here for a switch deal

        • @unifex: Thanks. I've been offered a scholarship to a great Uni so I think I'm going to enjoy being there. Luckily, one of my subjects is online, and I might be able to view my two, one-hour Monday lectures online, too. I hope so, because that'll help me save on hotel bills.

      • +1

uni for me was an 8 minute drive with 12 contact hours per week, 8 if you ditched lectures.

        • That sounds rough :D

        • @surroundedbymaniacs:

this was "way back" in 2005, when there was less traffic and intersections\red lights than there is now

however karma was a bitch, my first grad job was in the city, 2nd day took me 2 hours to get in because rain + highway = no one can drive.

@DiscoJango: The last days of old Melbourne… I grew up in the Inner North area and don't recognise the place any more.

    Don't forget to get $20 + $30 vouchers from eBay/Ozb Classfieds as well as $10 referral credit!! = $279.
5% off Kogan Gift Cards if you could be bothered = $265.05

    Awesome price!!
    * price does not include amount spent on vouchers :)

    • +1

Thanks! I added your info in the description.

      • +2

Lol 'if you could be bothered' added as well :P
        Haha classic.

        • +2

          Whoops. I think I'll remove it… :)

    • +2

By the time you manage to get all these deal gone and you'll be left with bunch of kogan credit and struggle to get rid of.

    • Can you really stack all of that into one transaction?

    • +1

      How does adding $60 worth of vouchers make $359 - 60 = 279??
      Am I missing something?

      • Perhaps you can get multiple vouchers. Sorry, not sure. I should've clarified it with the member.

        • +1

They sell on eBay $50 off $120 kogan vouchers which come in 2 parts as pennypincher98 mentions
its made up of a $20 off $100 and a $30 off $120. Sellers bundling together as $50 off $120 on ebay implies they should stack.

          That means getting 2x $50 off $120 is basically 2x $20 off $100 and 2x $30 off $120.

Vouchers will cost total $22.40 to acquire on eBay so

          $359 - $100 = $259 + $22.40 = $281.40

dont quote me on this. I'm only assuming you can stack all these kogan codes together

        • @Sock: Thanks for that info, much appreciated. I'll look into it for any future purchases.

        • +1

@Sock: I'm pretty sure you can't stack two $20+$30 off vouchers (total $100) unless I'm hugely mistaken

    • Just worked out how the referral system works… d'oh!

      • And the deal has expired….

      Thanks! Included in description.

Wish it was the grey model too!

    • Indeed. I have a preference for the grey, too. It's the only reason I didn't buy it.

    • +1

Can always buy grey joycon as extra

      • Thanks. Yes, I thought about that. Considered the yellow, too, which I don't mind.

      • Aren’t the joycons obscenely expensive though?

        • You can get a pair for $99 at Target and I assume most big retailers. No more expensive than controllers for other consoles.

  • +3

    Seems to be expired.

Good, I don't need another Switch anyways.

  • Deal expired.

    • Yes, thank you. I always thought the Mods took care of it. Just realised how to update the listing as expired.

  • missed it again.

    • I've noticed Kogan puts the better hourly deals during the night, very late, or very early. Darn their oily hides! I'm keeping a lookout for the Sony XZ Premium mobile phone.

Been waiting for a good deal on Switches for months and missed this by 15 mins. Man i'm pissed.

    • Sorry about that. A 7am deal is a bit cruel imo.

      • I usually get up early but it’s Sunday, so I think why not? Here we go, I got the reason….

      • 7 am is ok. however for qld it is 6 am which is NOT that ok plus sunday. well guess i can always wait for next deal

        • Ah, yes, I forgot to factor that in. Hope everyone who missed out finds another deal soon.

  • Doh! Missed again.

  • Oh man I've been waiting for a price like this to get a Switch and they do it at 6am.

  • +1

The early bird gets the Switch.

  • +4

I actually woke up to take a piss at this time… didn't check OzB though. My loss as I wanted a cheap Switch deal as well.

    • +4

Listen to what your bladder is trying to tell you next time!

  • +1

wow, this was a great deal!

  • +1

Does anyone have a copy of an email for this or even a screenshot of the Kogan page with the price there?

    • I have a screenshot. Just sent you a message. Not sure how to send or if allowed. You'll need to contact a Moderator to find out.

      • +2

The staff will double check the price on website at that time. they won't do price match.

If someone price match successful, Please reply and let us know

    • +1

Going to try price match at a retailer? Super interested if that works, I have a friend who might like to try that too.
