I think that's excessive, won't see me there on a public holiday or Sunday (10% Surcharge).

I think that's OK. I'm amazed that any of those guys can make money - so many pizza places come and go. Who wants to work on weekends?
If I didn't have kids then I'd prefer to work on weekends. During the week: go shopping without crowds, movies without crowds, restaurants without crowds, beach with crowds, etc
20% surcharge is a bit rich though; 10% is more reasonable
well for most people, they are offered 1.5 to 2 times pay. So calling 20% rich compared to an employee is entitled to is a bit out of whack.
Domino's Now Charging 20% Surcharge on Public Holidays
Hopefully, the staff are getting penalty rates then! If not, its a pure money grab.
Any dominos staff want to chime in?
But yeah this surcharge is just another endless list of charges by Domino, a chicken surcharge, a this/that surcharge, a you want it delivered in time surcharge etc. Its a joke.
I just go to my local, its walking distance, on the face value they are twice the price, but after all the surcharges they're cheaper!!! (and taste better)
When Domino's started stocking Pepsi, meh…
You used to be able to swap 2 toppings out with another 2 without an extra charge as well but unless I stuffed up I just tried doing it now and it charged me a dollar. Its not a huge amount, but its enough for me to go for a walk outside for something else to eat, so I guess thanks Dominos, might get something a little more healthier this weekend :).
They have allocated values to the toppings so if you try to swap a capsicum with a prawn for example it would charge you the difference. No more supreme with chicken and extra bacon for me 😢
That makes so much sense, thanks for letting me know. I know right, I think supreme (and then 8 meats) were the two with the most toppings as well! I'd swap capsicum and mushroom out for peri peri and chicken! Then couple that with a few coupons and would be one one of the best.
Such a deal breaker for me, but cheers mate, I had no idea why it was the charge that it was.
I had the funniest experience with adding a topping of real tomatoes. Was using their mobile app. Went to add something to a simply cheese pizza for the kids. After I had added the extra topping it also said something like extra cheese. I scrathed my head and thought, I don't know how that got there. Then removed it.
When I got home with my pizza it had tomato base with tomatoes on it. NO cheese at all.
It was the last time I ever shopped at Dominoes.
I voted go elsewhere, I only eat at Domino’s because it is dirt cheap not because I like it. If no longer dirt cheap I’ll get food I actually really like
Dirt's pretty cheap
Previously, toppings such as garlic sauce and spring onions used to be free.
Now they charge $1 for each addition.
This is simply Don Meij trying to boost the bottom line for Dominos shareholders.
He's doing his job, and I'll also do what's best for me by going elsewhere.yea, prawns used to be same as everything else, but now its $3. Cant swap out those capsicums for prawns now. :(
won't see me there
on a public holiday or SundayeverSave your money from Ozbargain and buy real pizza elsewhere. Live is too short for sh#t pizza!
Franchises have to pay their staff usually more than double for a public holiday. 20% is a small price to pay for the consumer.
Its a fair deal, who want to work on Sundays??
According to this staff do get penalty rates.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. move along!!everyone keeps saying their pizza is shit…but keep coming back when they put on some deals lol.
Oh yeah, in Ozb, they want their free/50% off/40% off or buy one get one pizza to be better quality pizza than local pizza which is twice more pricey.
Just as someone here looking for damn cheap good quality phone or something. :)
Seeming they don’t have to pay Sunday loading anymore it is a ripoff.
I have been a fan of our local dominos (their pizzas tasted much better than other dominos) and with the frequent deals was a no brainer to get pizzas from there.
However the last few months has seen some changes for the worse.
- quality of pizzas has decreased
- size of pizzas has decreased
- less deals than previously
- more surcharges and cost with ingredientsNow it's a no brainer to ditch dominos for local pizza store.
this.
dominos is shit at the best of times, id rather go to a local gourmet pizza place.
