Where to Buy Stainless Steel Baking Trays?

Hello,

I'm after a couple of stainless steel baking trays. Ideally, would like some that are roughly 40cm x 30cm and about 1cm deep.

The closest I can find on ebay to what I'm after is something like this for $66 plus postage:

If possible, I'd like to get two trays for $100 or less. Not sure if this is possible though?

Thanks

Edit: there is this, but I'm wary of buying an unknown brand for something that will be used for cooking on. Then again, I guess if its stainless steel it will be pretty safe?

  • my "stainless steel" dish tray rusts … so yeah.

    • Granted, stainless steel isn't 'never rust' steel, more accurate to say 'stain-resistant' steel maybe. Still, at least with stainless steel it wouldn't be hard to buff / polish any rust out if needed?

    • Thanks, but I've done the exact same Google search before posting (as well as a few variations of it). There are some results that appear relevant to what I'm after, but I was more after feedback from other Ozbargainers who have purchased similar products, where they got there's from, how it was holding up etc. Should have been clearer in my first post.

  • go for the cheap one I reckon…cheap enough to see how it lasts…

    • Unless someone here has a better idea, I probably will

  • I would buy them from a hospitality supply shop, where chefs/bar owners buy supplies, not a retail outlet.
There is a couple on parramatta rd

    • Or in Richmond if you are in melb.

      Costco also sells these

    Vinnies?

    • I'm a big op-shopper (shouldn't everyone on here be?) but I don't think I've ever seen these at one. Thanks for the thought though.

      • Pot luck I suppose

More tray luck than pot luck ;-)

The stainless ones on eBay (your second link) are only $7.00 each and $8.00 shipping. $30 for two. They don't mention how thick they are so you could ask. Catering shops have that sort of thing, but even then a lot are aluminium, and quite expensive as they are thicker commercial grade cookware. When I last shopped for these about three years ago I bought aluminised steel thicker gauge with non stick coating. They haven't held up very well as we have used knife to cut food on it and coating is affected. Wish I had of bought stainless steel ones.

Thanks, useful post. I'm still undecided on this but the second link I posted is looking like the best option so far.

      • If you buy them let us know how they go. I'd love to replace mine.

I've ordered two of them, so will post back once we've used them for a while.

        • @mr626: great, look forward to hearing what they are like.

  • The two cheapie trays that I ordered arrived a few days ago. As per my OP, I got two of these:

So far, so good. Long term usage will be the real test though.
