can anyone tell me why whenever I plugin one of those to my car, the cigarette lighter wont work afterwards (fuse blown?)

    • Is that true? i’m about to get one of these but now I’m afraid it’s gonna break my lighter

      • sorry mine was a Tronsmart (?) brand or something….i didnt mean it was this exact item….it just looks like this

        • ok thanks, bought 1

    • I've got a similar blitzwolf one and no issues. I transfer it between vehicles weekly and none have had issues.

    • There is often an 8a fuse for the cigarette lighter. 9.6a will blow it.

      • There is often an 8a fuse for the cigarette lighter. 9.6a will blow it.

Often? Or do you mean in your specific case? A cigarette lighter outlet is often fused at 10A or greater. An accessory socket may be fused lower as in your case.

In any case it's unlikely this charger will draw the full 9.6A continuously if at all given the variables of the devices plugged in.

Another factor to consider is that fuses should be derated to avoid nuisance blowing so a 10A fuse is really only good for 7.5A @ 25° so increasing the size of the fuse a little is ok in this application.

Why do you have a question mark after the fuse blown? Is your fuse blown or is it not?

Have you replaced the fuse and tried with another device to see if your USB charger is faulty or not compatible with your socket? Or maybe there is something inside your socket? What size is your fuse? It's it undersized? Have you checked if the size is correct?

      • No I have no idea why the cigarette lighter didnt work, I dont know anything about cars so I was suggesting perhaps it's fuse (?) related? No idea…

  • Aukey Cracked after 4 months but still working but not fast like blitzwolf

  • Looks beefy. Would buy if I didn't have so many already!
