Can do it a bit cheaper on Ebay with 10% if you aren't picky about exact RAM brands.

  • Last week I found a bundle on Ebay for Ryzen 7 1700, 8gb ram and a (probably) entry level mobo for around $540. I would hold out personally for a cheaper price with the new Ryzen refresh models coming, the price on older models will come down.

  • probably dumb to build a computer now with the bad GPU and RAM prices. AMD are going to come out with an APU chip that can play games decently, so maybe it would be wise to wait for that.

    • I'm hoping it makes gaming laptops cheaper, like 7-800 in long run lol

      • you mean with the APU? I don't think 1080p at medium settings are optimal for everyone, but i'm willing to hold on for 1-2 months on those settings for a new graphics card

    • New full fat Ryzen chips will be out in April too.

      Reviews are out now http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/amd-ryzen-3-2200g-revie…

It's in a bit of a funny spot. Would really only be OK for esports stuff like Overwatch or Dota with the inbuilt graphics, but it would work to buy now and add a real GPU when prices come down.

  • Or you can just get this (cheaper - same specs) https://www.newegg.com/global/au/Product/ComboBundleDetails.…
    (shipping included $617.26)

  • 2400Mhz RAM is disappointing for Ryzen, but fast RAM is ridiculously over priced… Dilemmas.
