Trip to Tropical Island for Girlfriend's Birthday

Hey all,

So the OH wants to head to a tropical island for a week or so. We are based in WA and would be going probably Oct / Nov time.

Any recommendations of somewhere with a similar vibe to the Maldives but not as commercialised and expensive?

*Edit: Been to Gili T numerous times, mainland Bali, Lombok, Sri Lanka, Langkawi, Thailand, India.

  Isle of Pines or Lifou. I saw loads of marine turtles while snorkelling on the beach at Isle of Pines and dived down and swam with them. Was amazing. Lifou also has an awesome shallow reef a few minutes walk away from the main beach that you can snorkel at for like a gold coin donation or something, with local girls selling fresh cut coconuts nearby.
