Can anyone recommend me a Powerbank for Google Pixel 2 XL?

I have had the S7 Edge and was using 10,000mAh Xiaomi Powerbank (https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_492337.html)

I see there is a this new model https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_607728.html with Type C with USB.

Question:

Can I use the Type C port to charge the Pixel 2 XL? or would I have to use a USB to Type C cable to charge the phone?

Are they any other powerbanks with close to 20,000 mAh capacity for Pixel 2 XL?

I need it mainly for travel.

Thanks

    If you want it to charge the phone quick, you need a USB PD power bank…I think it's called the ZMI.

    The one you linked is QC based so it will charge your phone, but not quickly.

    Otherwise, any will do.

    • sweet! thanks. Didn't even know that this model existed. Will have to keep an eye for a sale now!

    Look for a powerbank that has quick charge 3.0, also refered to as qc 3.0.

      Wrong. Pixel phones do not support QC.

        Thankyou for enlightening me.

          No worries, I made the same mistake myself. Bought 2 4 port QC chargers and a QC car charger in anticipation of my Pixel 2 XL, only to find out afterwards they wouldn't fast charge my new phone!

          Oh well. At least I can try and prevent it from happening to others!

    Umm that powerbank, the USB-C is only for CHARGING the battery, it won't charge a phone via the port.

    Source : I own one :/

    • Really? The description says charge and discharge from USB C port. Crazy! So it's wrong or your one is broken?

        Unless they have updated the device recently, the spec page is wrong.

        The latter link, seems to say the issue came about from a bad translation.

        I own four of these, USB-C does not output power.

        This isn't an issue as I just use the USB -> USB-C cable to charge the phone, and the normal USB-C charger to recharge it.

        Really convenient, love 'em.

        • Yeah, but you likely don't own a Pixel phone like the OP does.

        • Unfortunately I dont have a USB to Type C cable. Weird, google only supplied a type C to type C in the box.

          The ZMI seems to be a better option anyway since it's double the capacity.

          @John Kimble:

          Oh but I do, and so does my partner.

          @aspirepranesh:

          It's fine, it comes with the Xiaomi Pro one. We just use that one to charge the phones, and at home use the Pixel chargers to charge the power banks.
          We have a lot of them as we've both gone from Nexus P, to Pixel XL to Pixel 2 XL so a lot of USB-C wall chargers.

          We travel heaps too, so having so many power banks is awesome.

  • I use a Cygnett ChargeUp Pro 20k and a Xiaomi ZMI 20k.

    Have both. Don't ask why.

  • I use this one: https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-universal-10000mah-type-c…

    It can be charged, and charge phones, via Type C at decent speeds, it's made pretty well and it's actually quite cheap.

    I see you're looking for something a bit larger….buy 2? :-)

    The ZMI one above looks pretty good, if you can find one at a reasonable price.
