Tempting, but when my 2013 Macbook Pro doesn't want to die, has more ports, better keyboard it just doesn't make sense.

Totally agree, recently I tried typing on a new demo Macbook with its toy keyboard and I nearly fainted on the spot (in shock that Apple would be so dumb).

    • It doesn’t indeed. Your MBP is still young.

    • I'm hanging out for next years' version. It's looking like they'll put an A8-11 chip in it to run iOS apps at some point.

  • Torn between waiting for a potential CPU update this year or jumping on the top spec 15" model. Discount brings it down to $3699 … hmmm…

    • Same. My concern is the 8Gb limit on the Macbook Pro 13". My 2013 Macbook Pro 13" has 16Gb, so any of the latest models would literally be a downgrade.

    • Those 15 inch ones could be had for much cheaper in earlier deals. Id wait for CPU update the 8th gen cpus are considerably faster than 7th gen in terms of multitasking

  • I have ordered the same one from Apple website yesterday, delivery due Monday. Do you think I can still cancel and get monies back?

  • The 13 inch 128 GB Version comes down to $1619.10
Might save someone having to look it up themselves

  • Good price. Similar to the deal they had in early January which equated to about 15%. Plus claim your GST when heading overseas. Plus pay with 7 (or 8?) $100 eBay gift cards at 5% off with WISH card.

Comes out at about $1685 out of your pocket.

    • How do you get the eBay gift cards with WISH?

edit: Oh so you purchase the gift cards using 5% off from Cashrewards. How long do the giftcards arrive and did you say there was a limit to how many you could use on ebay?

      • Yeah, you need to purchase the gift cards in store. The last 2 times I've bought them they've had to be activated by a staff member. Which some say is problematic because you're not supposed to be allowed to buy gift cards with the WISH card. But if the staff are OK with it, seems to be no problem. The giftcards you buy through cash rewards are usually done within 24 hours. But sometimes the system gets stuck and you need to contact them to get it manually processed.

There is a limit on the number of codes you can enter on 1 purchase. I think ebay says 8 codes which would mean 7 ebay cards and 1 promo code. But I did read somewhere that it might be possible to do 8 cards + 1 promo. Whatever the case, you can at least do 7 x $100 cards! If you bought those 7 cards last week, you would have also received 2000 points per card. which is a further 10% (or 9.5% if you always use a WISH card to purchase your normal groceries). So with all that stacking, it gets quite ridiculous.

        • Oh. Took me some time to wrap my head around but finally understand haha. Thanks so much! I'll try to purchase an egift card with just 1 wish card first.

So just to confirm: Since this Mac is about $1900. Can you buy 7 Woolworths Gift cards through Cashrewards at 5% off that total $1900 and then use those to purchase 7 WISH eGift cards?

        • @HeraX: no. Basically, you buy as many wish cards as you need. In this case it would be $700 worth (you only pay $675 for these because they are 5% off @ cashrewards). You buy 1 x $500 & 1 x $200. With those 2 cards, you go to woolies and buy $700 worth of eBay cards. These need to be $100 denomination eBay cards because you can only apply 7 cards + a promo code at one time. If they were $50 cards, you could only apply 7 of those and it would be a maximum of $350 you’re applying.

My suggestion is to get the WISH eGift cards first. Because even if everything else goes to crap, you still have a 5% discount at woolies for the foreseeable future. 😄

Why is it so hard to find out the processor model and ram size for any Macbook Pro listings?
