Will We Ever See a Price Drop in Popular 3Ds Games?

Hi everyone,

I love my 3DS and I'm sure many other OzBargainers do as well. But the problem is with the 3DS that games are so expensive!? Have there been any good deals on 3DS Games lately? Is it good to buy pre-owned? I've probably spent over $300+ on a few on my 3DS Games. Some games I bought cheap are - Xenoblade Chronicles $30, Pokemon Moon $30, and Zelda Tri Force Heroes $19. All my other games (smash bros, mario games etc) have all been purchased at $50…

  • Maybe

  • Contacting a clairvoyant for you

  • Unlikely since portable games don't age at the same rate as PC or console games. Because the game is usually limited by screen size rather than the game engine or hardware being used the game won't perform any worse than a new release title so it won't get the standard price drop for an older version.

Currently you don't need to spend anything on 3DS games if you're not completely tech illiterate

That's true but perhaps it's worth supporting some developers. The OP may also like owning the physical game.

Haha I just went down this route yesterday. Slightly confusing at first but was able to replicate the procedure the second time without trouble.

    • still want to try out a few 3DS games like some zelda, pokemon games and ac: happy home designer.

      • If you don't mind pre-own, try buying those. If you want new, I suggest you try this site Canspend or comparegames.com.au to see which store offer the cheapest deal :) Also, AC Happy home designer should be very cheap these day as nobody want them D': so do not pay full-price for it

        • Alright thanks. Will take a look at that site

      • AC: Happy Home Designer, Assassins Creed running out of ideas.

    • $127 for a Gameboy clone? I don't think so. You can get one with built in games for a lot less than that http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/11/hardware_review_gb_…

      • Hyperkin's build quality will be a hell of a lot higher than Kong Feng's. The screen on my GB Boy was already scratched out of the box.

Hyperkin hate selling to Australians, though, so you'll need a shipping forwarder.
