Well the Australian farmers were producing for Indian market due to the shortage there few years ago but now the Indian government is trying to save their farmers by imposing tariff on imports so i guess Australian farmers have to sell them quickly rather than storing them.
I buy Australian produced lentils as they are much better quality.

India has imposed 30% tariff on chickpeas and lentils that might be the reason they are selling cheap.
