Dick Smith in OZ went toes up and the rights to the DS name were bought by Kogan in Melbourne. They are a retailer and are subject to Australian laws. This means that you can return your product to the Australian retailer who then has to manage or supply that warranty for you. However, as already stated, read the fine print of the Ts & Cs. If in any doubt then shop elsewhere. One possible problem could be that it may take a long time to get the item repaired or replaced.
