Last I heard there was a firmware update (can't remember if it was Beta though).
In any case I have both, and a 'normal' google home and a chromecast audio and they all live in harmony.
Do you find it really makes things more efficient or is it a gimmick still?
That's a difficult question. For me it ticks a few boxes.
I'm a tinkerer and interested in home automation which helps.
I also wanted a solution to play music over multiple speakers at once.
So most of my usage is asking it to play music, cast shows to the tv or what the weather will be with a few other home automations in the middle.
I put a lot of effort into that comment
