A118C - B40C 1080P Dashcam Black - US $29.99 (AUD $38.52) @ GearBest

So was just hit in the rear at a roundabout and the driver didn’t stop. Contacted police and they’re investigating but who knows if anything is going to happen. Got their number plate and brief description of the car and driver.

So here’s another dashcam deal to help some people out like myself. It’s not the cheapest deal but it’s the cheapest I could find at the moment. Shout out to the Gearbest rep for helping me out with this one.

Looks like you can actually order 2 per account (at the same time) but I don’t know how long this will last

Replica. Reviews from previous deals have been very mixed

If you're going to risk dealing with Gearbest, be careful not to disclose personal info or re-use a password (bad practice anyway, but people do it):

Losing our passwords through a total lack of basic security practices? Then ignoring it instead of informing us? I think that's something people will want to know about before the decide to take the risk and buy from them…

I'm still looking for one with park mode too - any deals on those perhaps? :)

    • Best just to hardwire with a toggle switch.

      • It would deplete your battery. The park mode ones can turn off if the battery drops below a certain voltage.

  • Planning to buy a rear cam for the car and contemplating this or fork out double the price for a A119s. I have a A119s upfront and just wondering do i need a good quality dashcam at the back? Plus at night it wont pick up the license plate no matter how good the sensor is due to the blinding headlights. So technically, this will suffice for peace of mind. Anyone here has experience with this unit for rear cam? Thanks!

    • I’ve got the a119s at the front and the a118c in the rear. Does what I need to too without having to spend the extra $$$. Quality isn’t as good but fine during the day. Night time not so great but quality is enough for me as a secondary rear camera

      • That's what I thought so too. Your comment had reassured me this is the way to go. So is your A118c the same as this replica one or the orginal Viofo one? If yes, how long have you had it for? Thanks for reply.

  • My one is the replica so same as this one posted. Have had mine for about a month now

I have just had a bad experience with Gearbest. I bought two of the 118C DVRs just before Xmas.
Both were faulty- the power lead had to be held at an angle for them to power up.
Both were in boxes that did not have the 118C labels- they were fakes.
I had to take a video of the fault and upload it for GB.
Be aware of their 7-day return policy and check them out straight away with a memory card.
In my case, this all happened over Xmas and I had to wait for micro SD cards, so when I sent them back to China I did not get my $36 postage refunded.
I am embittered by my experience with Gearbest and their tortuous warranty communications, and have lost time and money.

    • I had the same problem with mine regarding power. I had a spare power cable that fixed the issue.

Other than that, the user interface is the same as my a119s even though it’s a replica of the viofo one

    • Both were in boxes that did not have the 118C labels- they were fakes.

These aren't viofo counterfeits. Replicas yes, but not counterfeits.

The price is a dead giveaway.
