Dishwasher Issue - help

The house we moved in has westinghouse dishwasher 920
https://imgur.com/a/h5dM9

we didn't use it for 3-4yrs and previous owner confirmed it was in working state.
Today when I started it, I selected "wash select" to "Normal" and it ran for about 15mins then stopped at WASH phase and didn't go to RINSE and DRY phase (instead it went back to the original setting/option where it shows the blinking LED for choosing "wash select" option). I tried thrice, every time it stopped at same stage.

Trying to look for manual for this model, but no luck so far.

Any suggestions?

Have you checked the drainage pipe and water intake? Are you sure water is turned on/etc?

    • Yeah, water is on as I can see the first wash cycle when its done in 15mins the dishes are wet

Sounds like it might not be pumping, whether due to a seized pump (quite likely if it's not been used for 4+ years) or a blockage.

Problem is unless you're prepared to do the work yourself, it's probably just as chjeap to go and buy a new unit as pay someone to come out and fix.
I was quoted a $150 callout fee just to look at ours, plus labour and parts to fix once the problem was identified. Figure that was going to be a total close enough to $500.
I ended up taking the punt that it was a faulty inlet solenoid and replaced it myself with an official part for $80.

Looks like a really old dishwasher. Try contacting Westinghouse directly and ask for the manual.

Look around inside the door - there may be another sticker inside somewhere that has the proper model number on it, along with the year of manufacture etc.

I can't see what the buttons are from your low-res picture. Manufacturer's tend to use similar button configurations for a few years on different models so if you find one with those same buttons, you could probably work out what each button does and go from there.

(And also, I wouldn't necessarily go by the previous owner's word).

    Here is the manual https://product.electrolux.com.au/Public/File/7130

I personally think it’s strange you’ve lived in a house for 4 years and never used the dishwasher…. Not even to try it out?

    Try that manual.

Note that Electrolux and Westinghouse were subsidies. To buy a equivalent machine would be roughly $500

  • It may not be advancing to the next step because it may be taking too long to completely pump out and then stops after timing out.

Remove and check thoroughly all the filters are clear as per the manual.
Check that there are no kinks or crimps in the drain pipe or pinched by the machine at the back.
The pipe is clear of any gunk that has gone hard over the years of non use.
Remove the drain hose from the sink connection and check the hole is clear as occasionally they aren’t drilled out cleanly and build up occurs.
If your sink is slow to drain, the S bend may be partially blocked.

If you get it going, occasionally select a wash that uses really hot water to help flush out any stubborn grease build up.

Keep your fingers crossed that the seals haven’t gone dry/hard and leak and remember it’s a dishwasher not a garbage disposal.
