Normally $10.95 per month.

Fantastic price given the recent changes making all Xbox-exclusive titles appear on Game Pass on release day.

Equivalent to $65.76 per year - cheaper than buying a single, new title such as Sea of Thieves ($99.95 for digital preorder).

    Wasn't this free????

    • -1

Nope, unless you're talking about the Mastercard deal or Free 1 month trial?

        • -1

          Exactly my point..

        • @currentfad:

          WAS being the operative word.

        • +1

@currentfad: The deal BrodenIt was referring to is sign up for Microsoft Rewards and get 1 month free Game Pass voucher code. Microsoft does check mobile phone so you cannot use the same mobile phone number more than 3 times. You could even do 14 day trial + 1 month free voucher code (+ 1 extra month for accepting auto-renew for the first time, you can turn it off after you get that extra 1 month). Note, the order you do them is important and if you opted to not proceed with the first 1 month free voucher code (with the extra 1 month for auto-renew), you will lose that extra 1 month even if you decided to take it later on.

You could probably do the 14 day trial + 1 month (+ 1 extra month) trick with this one. Again, order is very important and you cannot do all the steps using the Web browser. Some steps have to be done on console. Refer to my comment on the other deal.

This deal you posted is targeted. People have a better chance to get the other deal and pay $0 than getting this deal (I am not targeted, but I am on free code, so I will get to play Sea of Thieves for free for a while).

        • @netsurfer:

So I should do 14 days free first, then the 1 month free?

        • @captaincabinets: It's a long post, but do read it in full. If you want to maximise the total continuous free GamePass, then do 14 day trial, 1 month free total (and Microsoft should offer you one additional month for keeping auto-renew on). Once you get everything, turn auto renew off.

However, if you changed the steps, i.e. if you entered the 1 month code already (and Microsoft offered you the 1 month extra for keeping auto renew on), proceed with it and forget about the 14 day for the time being (DON'T CANCEL and restart the process by trying to add in the 14 day trial into the mix, you will lose that extra 1 month for keeping auto renew on).

If you want to play it safe, don't worry about the 14 day trial for now (my experience is that Microsoft will offer you the 14 day trial later), use the 1 month code and get that extra 1 month (the extra 1 month is still better than 14 days). Some people and I had no issue with the 14 days + 1 month + 1 month, but you cannot tell for sure until after you activated the 14 day trial (so there is a risk).

        • @netsurfer:

Thanks mate. Signed up on the 14 day, so now I can do the rewards to get the first extra month. Thanks again.

I saw this on Whirlpool, but I can’t figure out how it stacks? “By selecting Subscribe, you agree to the Store terms of sale. We'll charge you AU$5.48 including tax for the first month and AU$10.95 including tax every month after that. You'll be notified before any…”

    • +1

Turn auto renew off, and go back to the page and keep buying it.

      • Thats assuming this $5.48 price isn't just a one off thing, which based on the quote you've just replied to makes it seem that it is… what makes you think you can just keep taking cancelling your sub and resubscribing with the discount every month?

        • Because if you read the title you would have seen the word "stackable" which means you can buy as many months as you want in one go (assuming 3 year cap).

Pretty sure this is free if you have multiple emails and heaps of numbers to send codes to. 3 verification codes per number as I remember before you get rejected.

    Nevertheless, good deal op.

    • +1

Oh didn't know that deal actually sent you a code, which is what BrodenIt would've been talking about - my bad.

  • +2

Showing full price for me. I haven't used my free month yet, if that makes a difference.

    • I haven't used mine either, but yeah I guess it must be targeted. A lot of people on Reddit seem to be getting this price though, so maybe check back tomorrow.

  • +3

    Targeted - full price

  • Seeing this as $5.48 on both my accounts, have never used Game Pass FWIW…

Urgh, checked a couple days ago and it offered a free month. Now reduced to 14 days. Only reason I held off was in hope Gears of War 5 might be added. Appears Gears 5 doesn't exist yet and 4 is already there. Annoying.

      Check the other OZB deal:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/359181

Sign up to Microsoft Rewards and Get 1 Month Xbox Game Pass. Stackable codes though strictly speaking each person should only get 1 code with that Microsoft Rewards deal. You could technically try up to 3 per mobile number. Don't forget the extra 1 month if you leave auto-renew on when you entered the first code (you can cancel it after you receive the extra month - and do remember to cancel it afterwards). If you have previously received one extra month for the auto-renew, you won't get it again.

      • Thanks mate. I followed the post of yours with the dot points halfway down that page but it didn't offer me a free extra month for the renewal for some reason. Still 6 weeks access is awesome and nothing to be sneezed at. Appreciate the help :)

        • +1

Not sure what triggers the 1 month extra. A few people reported success, but some people did report not getting it.

I was cynical about the extra 1 month free initially (when the other OZBer mentioned it) because I purchased $1 Game Pass for 1 month back in December 2017. At that time, Microsoft didn't offer me extra 1 month. However, using the free 1 month code this time, Microsoft offered it to me. One difference was that I previously did the $1 for 1 month game pass on browser. This time, I did it on a console.

I thought there had always been a 2 week trial?

  • +1

Bought 6 mths, thanx OP :)

    • how do u buy 6 months for that price?

  • +1

I got the 3 month for $20.95 offer

    • +1

Microsoft is offering 3 month for $20.95 to me as well. Not going to bother. Still have some free 1 month codes and yet to use the XBox One X 1 month free Game Pass code as well.

Game Pass is not that attractive to me at the moment. The XBox One exclusive games I want, I already owned. Rest of the Game Pass lineup is ordinary. Even with the free code, I found myself playing either games I own or games not in Game Pass (e.g. Forza Horizon 3, Motorsport 7). Sea of Thieves will be good.

FYI: I found out from the other OZB deal from another OZBer. Titles in Game Pass which are PlayAnywhere type CAN be played on PC as well (you can download them from Microsoft App Store for Windows 10 - e.g. Gears of War 4, Recore, Zoo Tycoon etc…) Microsoft has hinted that Sea of Thieves to be added to Game Pass will be PlayAnywhere version, which will be good.

  • Thanks OP.
    Targeted.
    I just bought 12 months.

    • Hey how do you buy 12 months for $5.48 ? isnt it only for 1 month?

      • I did it on PC.
It kept coming up after each month that I bought via Paypal.
I could have kept going but I thought 12 months was good.

  • For those that could not get this before you should try again.
I could not get this before but just tried today and it worked.
