Best Carpet Cleaner for Retail store

Hi all, have a retail store in rural area with a lot of red dust on low piles carpet. Instead of hiring soemone to clean it for $200 every couple months, I'm thinking of investing in a good & durable carpet cleaner.

It will be used weekly at the very least. Not sure what's the budget to aim for, but I would say no more than $1k to start with?

Appreciate your recommendations, before hearing the sale pitch from Godfrey's. Thanks!

I would look at the commercial range.

The PacVac is the commercial industry standard - it is known to be very durable and puts up with being mis-used by cleaners who are working for somebody else.

    Their competitor is Pullman

This is a new model at a good price (to compete with the PacVac) - the PacVac is the industry standard (along with the Henry https://www.godfreys.com.au/henry) - because they are both proven to last years. You HAVE to use bags with the Henry but not the other 2.

With the red dust you describe, it is advisable to wash the filters regularly.

The other option is much cheaper - https://www.godfreys.com.au/work-hero-10l-dry-canister-plast…

This actually works pretty well. If buying this you will need to buy an extension cord and I recommend buying a 32mm "Gulper" vacuum head ($20) to replace the one it comes with.

    Congratulations on running your store!

    • Thanks for you recommendations, but I really need just a shampooer, not another commercial vacuum. In fact, I already got a Henry, but just not doing enough to remove red dust from the Australian outback. It's the way it is here.

Lots of facts why ask us then?

        • +1

Facts what? I just mentioned I already got a vacuum, still don't know what shampooer You're on PMS or what I wonder

  • How big of an area OP?

$200 might seem like a 'lot' but you need to factor in the cost of the shampooer unit, chemicals to run it, and time to do the work. The latter being the main one, do you have time to do this yourself?

You might be able to strike up a deal with the guy to come monthly for a lower rate rather than adhoc.

Also as others have said, a better vaccum may help. Something with a powered head (not via air), might be handy to really lift the dirt out of the carpet between cleans.

Depending on the unit the company uses, it be a $2k setup or a $10k setup

So it might not be so cheap to get your own for once a month.

  • Rented this to do my place, seemed like it did a good job. Wife was amazed and disgusted at the same time looking at the colour of the liquid that came out of the machine.

Essentially it sprays the cleaning agent on and then vacuums it up.

You can buy it outright if you want, maybe rent it first to see if it is any good on a commercial basis.

  • Unfortunately renting is not an option due to the ruralness..

    The shop is about 50sqm
