in australia they are expensive almost zero discount but if you lucky (size wise) you might get them cheaper:

beware on ebay there are plenty fakes from china they wont incl box (to save shipping cost etc) but there is no box for the fakes thats why.

i use the merrell trail gloves and they have lasted me a long time. good for outdoor/running use plus solid platform for lifting at the gym as well
ive heard good things about the new balance minimus range as well, which i think have only been recently stocked in aus.
these are good comparisons to the fivefingers, but they wont give you the unique feeling in the toes you might be after
