  • Interesting, anyone have/use one of these?? Might be a good tool to have for when I have been lazy and not shaved in a few days.

    • Yes. It's great, I recently bought it for $40… damn it!

    • My only complaint is that the lowest size is too big to keep a really faint stubble

    • This was the first trimmer I bought a few years ago. It was decent but I realised how uneven it was at the lowest settings after upgrading to the 5100 series. So it's fine as a starter but if you can find a good deal on the 5100 I'd go with that instead.

  • Awesome for shaving downstairs.

Oh you have a reverse living house too?

      • nothing like a carpetless downstairs area

    • I'm sure most houses have bathrooms on the bottom floor….

    • its wireless, you should be able to shave where ever you want.

  • I don't know if I should grab this seeing as I still haven't received the Wahl ones from the Shaver Shop deals from just after Christmas!

    • +2

      Cancel Wahl and get this.

    • my clippers (only item ordered) came in a couple of weeks ago

  • I bought one of these for 30 bucks from The Shaver Shop as part of their Boxing Day Sale. It's a pretty good trimmer, easy to clean and has a decent battery life given the 1 hour charge time. However, since it is only a trimmer, it will not give you a super smooth shave.

  • Bought this years back from Amazon US at this price. Very good trimmer, good for retaining stubble. Might buy for convenience of AU plug.

That's over 6 x smashed avos on toast.

  • how is this vs the wahl? not the cheap wahl but that like $60-70 one..

i dont shave to the skin.. i have an extremely thick beard that hits 1cm after about 2weeks, and usually only like to trim it back to stubble once a month, and a lotta trimmers and clippers struggle… cheap ones are almost a no go, they won't cut it.

I'm 46 and flat out shaving once a fortnight - jealous as !

  • I have this and its amazing. I bought from The Good Guys for $45 I think. The battery lasts forever and it's very simple to use.

how fine does this go? I bought the Wahl ones recently but its basically inpossible to get a neat line on the beard/moustache.

    Is this any better?

    • +1

Neat line is as challenging as Wahl I would say. I have to use scissors for the final touch.

    • Yup, if it's a neat line you want then look elsewhere.
This is great for someone like me that needs to shave every third day. It gives you a raspy sandpaper cut, the kind your daughter goes; 'Ouch dad!'
      But that's about it.
The big pro Wahl that barbers use is still the best and quickest but it's a lot dearer and requires a bit of maintenance. Those two Philips head screws for adjustment are a bitch to get aligned.

Recently took this with me overseas purely for it's small form factor and excellent battery life.
If your pretty hirsute around the chin then grab this as it's a great fallback option and can be used every day to maintain a particular look.

  • How is this for shaving the Amazon? Any good or would it be a bloody burn death by 1000 cuts?

  • I personally find Phillips to be a better overall product compared to others.
There is no need for regular oiling compared to others.
Easy to charge and use for trimming, shaving
