Panasonic EX600A 55" 4K UHD TV, $998 (Was $1298) @ JB Hi-Fi

120

I have been following this TV's price for a while, easily the cheapest I have seen so far. A 55" 4K TV from a big brand for under $1K is a great deal in my books.

  • How does this compare to the Hisense 55N7?

  • I think the 55N7 is the better all round TV and would buy it, but I have difficulty with space on the shelf and the N7 won't fit unfortunately. The Panasonic is the only TV in this size which has an adjustable pedestal/stand so it will fit easily. It also is one of the only big brands TVs with a headphone socket (together with the Hisense) which I need also.

    • How is the stand adjustable? I have seen the FullHD version and the stand is fixed. Very stable but fixed.

      • You are correct that the stand is fixed, but there are x4 different settings that can be chosen, with the feet either being the same width as the TV or close to the middle. refer to the website - they call it "switch design" and I am surprised that more manufacturers don't have this option. https://www.panasonic.com/au/consumer/televisions/ultra-hd-t…

        • OK thanks, much different and pretty neat.

    • I think you're correct. I've done a bit of research and the N7 seems to come out on top.

    Hi
Is this better in comparison with Sony 7000x series ?

  • $961.80 Delivered from VideoPro eBay using PRESENT20 code is another option. A bit cheaper and includes delivery too.

  • 4K is becoming the 'de facto' standard in TVs, like 1080p before it. Therefore, I don't see any perceived "value" in buying such a set, when in a few years, all TVs will be 4K. Ignoring the resolution, I don't think 55" for $998 is anything special.
