Looks like a pretty decent deal, reviews for this phone are good and I'm considering getting it. No NFC / IR Blaster is a bit of a cop out but the screen looks like it blows the competition away at that price.

Display: 6.0 inch 720 x 1440 pixels screen
CPU: Helio P20 Octa Core 2.3GHzBad and worse
lmao 720 x 1440.
marketing pat themselves on the back over that probably. can they list it as a 1440p screen>
What exactly is so good about this piece of junk?
Maybe the 2 upvoters know something we don't.
If you just want a shitty 6 inch phone, here's one for under 90, and I'm pretty sure you can use the 20% off eBay code on it too, but don't quote me.
https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/6-0-inch-Smartphone-Unlocked-Andro…
The specifications…goodness me.
They're dodgy, yeah, but (assuming the 20% off does work), it's 72 bucks, making it a good chunk less than a third of the cost of this phone.
Absolute shit phone, no doubt. But if you want a 6 incher and you're on a budget, it can be done apparently.
Ozbargain user Chingy bought this phone which turned out to be a rather regretful purchase.
Wow. I know I won't be getting this now then lol.
Dude are you for real?
Dude are you for real?
Only idiots pay that much for a phone given the quality that is around for $400 or less.
people with $1000 plus phones are everywhere, idiots in your opinion, whats the quality of phones with a $400 rrp? $50 or less? at least you will enjoy the sharp hd youtube video when you are sitting in toilet, if you don't have wifi that's another story
That makes less sense than your original post.
"$1000 doesn't hurt even if you have to starve a little"
You starved yourself so you can get a $1000 phone? I rather buy a few Chinese phones and used the left over money to buy food. Your $1000 phone is probably made in the same factory as those cheap Chinese phones.
of course they are made in the same factory, i3 and i8 are made in the same bmw overseas factory, very likely it is in china, same location, different streamlines for different tiers, whats wrong? see my reply above, get a good phone, help your eyes, if $1000 seems too much for you, do you have your own house?
Yes I do have my own house, my own cars and I have money in the bank. I just dont like spending $1000 on a phone.
@HandsomeMonkey: cool then, don't belong to the hate it because cannot afford it category, i was thinking of a nice phone will do wonder to your eyes, ears, boring loo time or whenever you are in transit, if those aren't worthy of $1000, ciao
You and your whole thread, all of it, is (profanity) mental.
Grade A trolling.
The S2 Pro looks really good, this, not so much. I've had the Umi Z for a year now and it's been excellent, although they don't bother with stuff like monthly security updates.
The Pro variant of this phone is alot better, Ill post a quick deal and see how it goes
1st worlds first.
Will never trust Umidigi again, not after the farce that is the Crystal. Unusable GPS, auto reboots multiple time per day, alarms that don't go off, the forum is a catalog of issues, which they appear to have given up on fixing as there hasn't been a new firmware release for months. They literally bricked multiple phones with a dodgy OTA update and required return to China for replacement/refund.
The specs look fine but I'll never trust them on implementation again.
Good luck to any and all that succumb to the temptation.
As I said, my Z has been terrific.
I looked at getting one of these on the weekend. Found out in the detail theres the S2, S2 lite and S2 pro. Pro would be the pick of the litter if you wanted to spend a bit more, better specs and screen res. Umidigi would be around the same price bracket, just make sure you read the fine print on what you're getting. I wouldnt go for this one in particular just cos of specs and screen res. Pics are deceiving, their renders dont give you actual screen ratio to bezel, think its fairly common accross the board. I usually go into the reviews and check out ACTUAL pics of people holding them to get a better idea.
I ended up deciding on Vernee X 4GB/64GB model, 6000mah battery, big 1080p screen for $209. Couldnt justify extra 30% cost for 4gb-6gb.
Ive got a Vernee Mix 2 at the moment (mrs has claimed it), and happy with it. All chinese phones are a raffle in my opinion, but worth taking a spin due to cost. Ive had a couple of Xiaomi and very happy with build quality.
