Does the main banks charge any international fees when purchasing things online? I got hit a few times at random, not sure if it’s the quantity or what, would PayPal be a better option or huge purchases also effect PayPal? Just trying to avoid these hefty fees! Thanks in advance.

if i have paypal convert the amount i get no fees
Depends on what you mean by fees - the sh*tty exchange rate you get from PayPal is the fee, it is just effectively hidden.
It is the same with cards with no fees, they just make the money back in the exchange rate they provide.
this is so not true. the rate is good with 28 degrees, Citibank and ING.
Its not the bank's rate, rather Mastercard or Visa. Not true for citibank. No fees, but exchange rate was a rip off.
(AU citibank card. Not Visa or Mastercard. - Getting money at Tokyo citibank ATM.)Tried another card afterwards at the same ATM, same day and it was cheaper.
@big: Think PissLUR is referring specifically to a Citibank Plus Transaction account (which should give the interbank exchange rate or thereabouts) - is that the account you used?
Any idea if u UBank had no fees?
ask them
Ubank does have fees. Check out the wiki for some cards without international fees
ING now has no international transaction fees, if you meet their monthly requirements
