Did the plums add flavour or just for more sugar?
$20.00 in NSW due to the container deposit tax/scam.
What's all this then?
So they mark the price up?
$18 + (10 cans x 0.10) = $19.
Will ACCC fine Dan Murphys for charging an extra dollar?
The govt imposes 20¢ per can which only 10¢ is given to the returner and the other 10¢ is used to cover costs of the return and earn scheme.
Huh, TIL.
330 ml?
375 ml
$20
I like this one, has quite a hard taste.
I tried it when bws was giving away 6 packs for $10 with anything over $50.
I'll be checking this out
$20 in SA as well
Didn't realise these were 8%, will have to give them a try, cheers OP
i love these in a bottle. And orchard thieves.
8% alcohol in beer is like making a triple shot espresso, just because the espresso beans are good…
Some of you might like it, but for me anything over 6% is too much(I prefer 4.7-5%). Beer should be about refreshment and not getting you stoned after your first can.Wellllll…sometimes!
This isn't beer.
In beer, I'd have to disagree strongly - alcohol is the side effect of using more grain, and grain brings flavour. I rarely drink beer below 6%ish - I drink beer to taste beer. If I want to be refreshed, I'll drink water.
In cider, high alcohol content is just the result of fermenting to dryness rather than artificially halting the fermentation with preservatives or pasteurization. It tastes different (not necessarily better - some people like their cider on the dry side, others like it sweeter, and that's fine). If you like really dry apple cider, it's going to be 7-8%, because that's how much sugar there is in apple juice to begin with.
Lol I wish i could get tipsy off one of these… Never be a tall big guy, I can drink a whole pack of these and be just getting buzzed :/
1 pack of these contains more alcohol than a full bottle of 40% spirit - and you get 'just buzzed'. That would make for an expensive life.
I don't drink to get buzzed though. Another refreshment guy here.
@Slippery Fish: In that case I wouldn't waste a dime on alcohol. There are far more refreshing options elsewhere…as you prob know.
I read somewhere that it is actually cheaper in terms of our crazy alcohol tax system to produce cider with 8% alcohol or more as it then becomes a wine and falls under a lower tax regime (WET).
Must be how Little Fat Lambs are so cheap aswell
That would explain the rise of 'hard' cider. When I was in the shop today I noticed quite a few brands are catching onto this.
Thanks, just ordered 2 packs, ready for collection.
Damnit ordered the black 8% cans and they gave me the regular white 5% cans instead..
Asked for black, got white…what's a brother to do?
Swap em?
@systmworks: Novel approach. Give it a shot.
@Lps: So I did. And they did. And all is well.
This does give me a sore tummy if I drink a can after not eating for quite a few hours.. might be the acidity.
And the taste?
My Grandad used to make this stuff in the basement out of plum skins…. it too was strong :-p
