Thank you and goodbye Telstra Prepaid!

I just want to say THANK YOU to Telstra for providing me with a good service for the past 1.5 years (when they allowed the carrier billing for the purchase through the Google App store).

One of the benefits I got from them are:

  • Netflix subscription, useful to entertain my toddler with 'Octonauts' TV series
  • Telstra Caller tone; I used "Star Wars" caller tone and this has always been a good conversation starter for anyone who called me (helps tone down angry customers hehe)
  • Plex subscription, which I cannot live without it anymore and have decided to continue my subscription by purchasing Woolies eGiftcard from the entertainment book voucher (5% discount)
  • Google Play Music subscription, to accompany my lonely (read: train-mode) journey to/from work
  • Youtube Red, so that I don't have to waste my life watching those advertisements
  • Lastpass subscription, I can save all mumbo-jumbo difficult-to-crack random password for all websites I access
  • G2A payment through Boku, this worked before, but not anymore
  • And all random games from Google play store

It's time to move on to new provider, Woolies mobile…

This is Kate from Telstra Prepaid Customer Retention department, is there anything we can do to change your mind? How about we throw in 1TB data per month, does it work for you?

    • Hahaha

      why is this getting downvoted

      • There is a mole, in ozbargain, from Woolies mobile.

    • But Kate, you're still getting OPs dollars via Woolies.

      • Woolies pays us peanuts.

        • Can we buy Telstra Prepaid for peanuts too?

…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope

    • Haha… I should've said one benefit list ^_*

    That’s great.
What’s the point of telling us?

    • +2

Maybe he wants us to judge him for letting his toddler watch a tv show instead of, you know, actually parenting him

    • I just want to share how I feel about their great service…that's all :) sure thing everyone that use their carrier billing service would have felt the same

  • Same here. I straight away changed to Kogan after that. And how cheeky of them telling us about stopping purchase through google play ONLY 2-3 days before the cut!!

  • Why doesn't G2A/Boku work for you anymore? It worked for me a week ago?

    • I tried cash out AU$23 (which also means $40 to be withdrawn from telstra), the error says "Transaction failed, Transaction declined"

I'm sure that Telstra will be devistated to lose another double dipping unprofitable customer.

  • Cool story. BTW your toddler can watch octonauts for free on iview.

    • And on Youtube. Great show!
