Received this deal in their daily newsletter email.
Seems like a good deal, but I just don't like using generic power adapter converters (which are either quite large or look as if they could melt at anytime)

i literally cannot work out what this does, maybe I've become old.
Basically extends your wifi to a more complete coverage around the home.
It's also very intuitive, and easy to use from what I've read.
Thanks for the explanation!
For people with massvie houses ;)
What exactly is this?
WiFi Mesh access points.
I would personally go with this one https://amplifi.com/
I think Google WiFi appeals more to the simple setup crowd. I wouldn't setup an Amplifi system for my parents, or my grandparents as an example. The software is very much still in development too.
Are you sure you are talking about Amplifi and not Unifi?
Amplifi - consumer grade product, no much settings.
Unifi - geek grade product.
@SickDmith: yep that's the one! Also amplifi had more settings than most mesh systems.
I've been waiting to pull the trigger.
These were $369 last month off Kogan.
Been waiting until they get to about the $325 mark before biting the bullet!
Mesh Wifi is awesome, especially if you have areas in your house with crappy signal. Same technology that’s used in airports, hospitals, shopping centres, etc.
This is a good price even if you are going to upgrade from wireless N to wirless AC.
Hospitals etc will be using fixed wired access points, not wireless mesh devices. Something more akin to the Ubiquiti UniFi range if you want a more consumer level (and small business) level comparison. They’ll be wired into a physical switch via in ceiling cabling where these devices are wireless so far as networking goes.
Good coverage but ping is high. Bought one and returned because of high ping.
This is normal for mesh…. Have to do research.
I pointed out just in case others focused on coverage only and forgot factoring in other aspects, which could be deal breakers later.
