Cadisen Watch Miyota Auto, Sapphire Crystal, SS Case, Ceramic Bezel, Display Caseback US $38.05 (~AU $47.98) Shipped @ GearBest

130
$15off-WT

For the money, it would be very difficult to find a watch with these specs. It is a Longines Conquest homage, but obviously made in China. Change the band and you probably have a cheap, but decent quality watch.

Cadisen YouTube Review

The Miyota 8215 is known as a workhorse movement. It features ~40 hours power reserve, hand winding, date, but no hacking (stopping the seconds hand). My watches with this movement are very accurate. +5 seconds per day.

    This is not watchnerd approved. Beware!

  • +2

    I don't know much about this brand but linked to a Cadison in my Naviforce post which apparently has a Seiko movement for $63.00.

      Adding it now.

  • Cadisen - Sapphire Glass, Automatic Seiko NH36A Watch AU $51.94(gearbest.com) with code $8off-WT

    It's half and inch thick !!!

  • Could be more homagey… The dial should be steel and the hands thicker. But… mechanical movement at bargain basement prices.

    • Dial? Do you mean bezel or caseback?

      Thanks! Great value for the price but the video highlighted a few bits I would have liked to see more refined. Will pass on this.

      • yeah no luminated hands…WTF?

        • +1

          Lume on a China watch is usually disappointing anyway.

          @WatchNerd: Cheers,

          I like the look of this watch, simple (uncluttered) but I'd prefer a Citizen/Seiko that's not battery powered & I can swim in & read at night. any suggestion nder $150?

        • Do you mean you want an automatic or can it be a Citizen Eco-Drive which has a rechargeable battery & will last about 20 years?
          Also this is a small size at 39mm, is that what you want?

        • @supabrudda: If you mean Eco-Drive the top 2 watches here are fine for swimming with WR 100m and often arrive within 3 days of ordering.

        • +1

          @WatchNerd: exo-drivr is good. I'm over trying to get watch batteries replaced & tested every few years.

          As for size, yeah a bit bigger would be nicer. My current one is a Seiko Coutura (41mm) but my issues is there's too many things on the face + the colour scheme that I find it very hard to read the time. Id prefer black on white/white on black and a seconds hand that moves. Date is good. But no need for stip watches, etc.

          Thanks!

          @PJC: thanks mate! , I'll have a squiz again.

        • Do you like dive watches? Here is a 40mm Invicta 200m, but it's basically a Seiko at heart.

          Also check out the Seiko 5 range.

          @WatchNerd:
          Thanks for the watchslueth link. the SNE471P & SNE473P are my style. much appreciated!

        • +1

          @PJC: Cheers, not my style,
          But thanks for the tip, the eco-drive AW1410-32X is more like it.

          Thanks for the link though, I've signed up to the Citizen ebay page.

  • rotor goes whirrrrrrrrrrr

    • I've had a couple of these movements before. Definitely louder than my ETA and Miyota 9015 movements. But it's really only audible in dead silence or when starting the movement and not in day to day wear.

    But it's ugly. Bog boring ugly. How can someone manage to make something so ugly? It used to be a requirement in Eastern Block countries (ugliness), but even they've moved on. Perhaps it's 50year old eastern block stock rebadged?

      Hello,

      Lucky for you i'm back from a months sabbatical - my way of objecting to being slotted in the penalty box for daring to reflect on the comments of others based on their racial/ethnic heritage after they chose to reflect on the conduct of some Australian-born brothers of mine based on their racial/ethnic heritage. No, this has nothing to do with the Eastern Block, but has some resonance with Jesus at crucifixion.

      As mentioned by ilikeit, this is a fromage to the Longines Conquest. Some find it beautiful, just like your mother finds … you know …

      What? Don't you like my cheesy jokes?

      • +2

        You missed a very cheesy opportunity yesterday. Good to see you back!

      • Who cut the cheese?

  • Mine arrived today. It's a nice watch. The band is so-so, so I might look at replacing that.

    • +1

      The bands on these cheapies are usually rubbish. I factor that into the price.

    • +1

      My automatic Cadisen arrived today, too. Got the black one, although I really wanted the gold coloured one.
      It has a Nh36a movement. I love it. I took heaps of pictures.
      I will probably replace the band, but it will do me for now.

      • +1

        If you could upload some photos that would be great, as most of us know very little about this brand.
        Do you think the lens is sapphire? Don't forget a wrist shot, thanks.

        • Where is the best place to write/post the review so that everyone else can refer back to it? I have a bit of a boring day at work today, so I'll do it in work time.
          And how do I tell if the lens is sapphire? It didn't mention it on anything obvious, but I haven't read through all the paper-work with it yet.

        • Leave the review right here please.

          And how do I tell if the lens is sapphire?

          That's a tough one, so many suggestions like the water drop test, which doesn't make sense to me.

          They appear clearer and less reflective than mineral. I tried this and it is definitely cooler.

          Mini review of Cadisen 1020 Automatic in black.

          I think the lens is Mineral Glass. It doesn't do the water beading like my Sapphire Tissot lens does. A watch repairer I took it to also said that from the side on it looks like mineral glass due to the smokey color of the glass edge.

          It doesn't appear to have lost or gained any more than 10seconds since I started using it on Thursday.

          The clear case back shows NH36A stamped on the pendulum rotor weight. The words 'TWENTY-FOUR JEWELS' and 'SII 0' are also stamped in it.
          Clear case back

          close up

          The clasp is 'interesting'. It feels comfortable enough on my 19cm (7.5" ) circumference wrist. I will probably replace the band at some point.
          Clasp

          The hands do not appear to have any luminescence, even though they have some white painted in their tips. The hour markings definitely do not have any lume.

          Side-on view on wrist

          On wrist

          On wrist 2

        • @mduncan2: Thank you. It looks impressive, how disappointing they skimped on luminescence.

        • +1

          @PJC:
          I need to update the above regarding the Lume on the hands….
          There is lume, and it works. Barely.

          I had to sit the watch in the direct afternoon sunlight for a while, and then race to a dark place. It had a dull lume for maybe 15 mins only.

        • @mduncan2: Fair enough; I had expected a little bit of lume.

    A Watchuseek member posted some photos of their Cadisen 1020 here.

    Apparently, these codes still work guys.
