  • Parrot DISCO

    Looks like fun…

  • too bad I dont have the skill to not crash this

  • How is this compare to dji?

Ive flown this model and its absolutely amazing what it can do. The autopilot function, the controller and all. Can be flown with next to no skill, although its highly recommended to be doing this only in a super large open space (very, very large park or some farm, etc)

Can be flown with a tablet as the screen as well (which is what I did), but if you need glasses please get to the optometrist. You can easily lose this thing by flying too far from you. However, there are lots of built in safeguards to protect you from losing the drone, and it can return to you, or even fly it on a radar blip similar to what you'd see from an air control tower (movie stuff).

  • Looks awesome.

battery life? no point if only 20-30 mins. after 6 months heavy use it will reduce to 12 mins

    • 40 mins.

  • +2

says 45 mins battery. but you can buy a big battery. there was a vid of a guy who flew it 57km on youtube as you can program a flight and it goes on its own
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmqT_ZlBUmw

  • Without landing gears, I wonder how hard the drone gonna land without scratching itself to slow down…

    • nothing about landing on youtube? curious as well

      • I just watched one video, apparently landing gonna need some skills. That guy on youtube destroyed the first one when he was landing. And the second one he landed on the grass. Seems soft runway is a MUST…

    1. how this keep the connection between drone and controller? using 4G? wifi/bluetooth cant go that far, right?
    2. there are talk on internet about build your self this drone for just half of the original discos' price
      1. RC, but images seem pretty bad quality after it flys 200m away from you. (according to one of youtube reviews)
      2. Pass…
  • Such a bargain, own one, heaps of fun, the only thing is it's illegal to use the headset when flying it, you must have line of sight to it.

i say come catch me haha. i just bought one

  • How can you legally fly this thing and enjoy its true potential? As drone laws say you have to have it in a constant line of sight (i.e always looking right at it not at a screen or through goggles). This pretty much means you can fly it in a huge open space in circles and thats about it. The true potential of this drone is to take it out on some amazing flightpaths along the coast / around obstacles stuff like that. Same can be said of many drones however but because this one has to constantly be moving forward it limits the footage you can get

After checking out videos and reviews, I’ve decided I gotta have one of these.
Just an FYI for you guys have JB has dropped its price to match but even better is the fact that Officeworks sell this.
They’re on back order (2-3 weeks) but the good news is they still price beat by 5%.
